Indian Navy Sailor SSR (Medical) 02/2027 Batch Recruitment - Indian Navy

The Indian Navy invites online applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as sailors for Senior Secondary Recruits in the Medical Branch (SSR (Medical)) for the 02/2027 batch. The official website for applications is www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.

Eligibility Conditions

Educational Qualifications: Qualified in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a recognized board, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
Age Criteria: Candidates should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive).
Note: Candidates appearing in the class 12th Board Exam of the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply.

Pay and Perquisites

Stipend: During the initial training period, a stipend of ₹14,600/- per month will be admissible.
Pay Scale: On successful completion of training, candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹21,700 - ₹69,100). They will also receive MSP of ₹5,200/- per month plus DA.
Promotion: Prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I (Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix).
Insurance Cover: An insurance cover of ₹75 lakhs is applicable for sailors (on contribution).

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

Stage I: INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)
Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical.

Stage - I (INET - Indian Navy Entrance Test)

Exam Mode: Computer-based test.
Questions: 100 objective type (multiple-choice) questions, each carrying 1 mark.
Language: Bilingual (Hindi & English).
Sections: English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness.
Standard: 10+2 level.
Duration: One hour.
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Stage - II (Physical Fitness Test, Written Examination & Recruitment Medical)

Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Qualifying in PFT is mandatory. The standards are as follows:
- 1.6 Km run: 06 min 30 sec
- Squats (Uthak Baithak): 20
- Push-ups: 15
- Bent Knee Sit-ups: 15
Written Exam: Candidates who qualify the PFT will appear for the Stage II written exam. The pattern is similar to the Stage-I exam (100 questions, 1 hour duration).
Recruitment Medical Examination: Candidates qualifying the PFT and Stage-II written exam will undergo a medical examination.

Examination Fee

An examination fee of ₹550/- plus 18% GST is to be paid online. The admit card will be issued only to candidates who have successfully paid the fee.
