Online applications are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment to the post of Multi-Tasking Staff (General) (MTS (G)) in various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (Ministry of Home Affairs), Government of India.
1. Description of the Post
- Name: Multi Tasking Staff (General)
- Classification: General Central Service, (Group 'C') Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
- Pay Scale: Level-1 (Rs. 18,000-56,900) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Govt. allowances.
- Note i: Special Security Allowance @ 20% of basic pay in addition to other Govt. allowances.
- Note ii: Cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays subject to a ceiling of 30 days.
- Essential Qualifications:
- (i) Matriculation or equivalent from recognized Board.
- (ii) Possession of domicile certificate of that State against which candidate has applied on closing date of application i.e. 14.12.2025.

- Note-1: Reservation of vacancies for OBC, SC, ST, EWS, Ex-Servicemen & PwBD is as per rules/roster.
- Note-2: The number of vacancies is provisional and liable to change.
- Note-3: The candidate can opt only for one SIB. Applications received for more than one SIB from a candidate would be summarily rejected.
- Note-4: Eligibility (age, educational qualification, caste/category, etc.) will be determined on the closing date i.e., 14.12.2025. Candidates must possess essential qualifications by this date.
Age Limit (as on 14.12.2025)
- 18-25 years.
- Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC candidates.
- Departmental candidates: Up to 40 years of age (with 3 years regular & continuous service).
- Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated: Up to 35 years for UR, 38 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST.
- Ex-servicemen: As per Govt. instructions.
- Meritorious sportspersons: Up to a maximum of 5 years.
- PwBD: 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST, subject to a maximum age of 56 years.
- If a person with benchmark disability is entitled to age concession by virtue of being a Central Government employee, the more beneficial concession will apply.
2. Service Liability
The post involves All India Transfer liability. Candidates willing to serve anywhere in India only need to apply.
3. Scheme of Examination
The examination will consist of two Tiers:

Tier-I (Online Exam): Objective type MCQs (100 questions, 1 mark each) - 1 hour, Total Marks: 100.
- a) General Awareness: 40 Marks
- b) Quantitative Aptitude: 20 Marks
- c) Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning: 20 Marks
- d) English Language: 20 Marks
- Negative marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.

Tier-II (Descriptive Test): English Language and Comprehension - 1 hour, Total Marks: 50.
- Content includes basics of English Language, its vocabulary, correct grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, correct usage, comprehension, and paragraph writing in 150 words.
Important Notes on Examination Scheme:
- Note-1: Cut-off marks in Tier-I: UR-30, OBC-28, ST-25 & EWS-30. All Ex-servicemen & PwBD will be treated in their own category.
- Note-2: Qualified candidates shortlisted for Tier-II will be 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to scoring minimum cut-off in Tier-I.
- Note-3: Tier-II exam is qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks in Tier-II are 20 out of 50.
- Note-4: Final merit list will be prepared based on performance in Tier-I, provided the candidate qualifies in Tier-II.
4. City of Examination
- Candidates must carefully decide their choice of City of Examination while filling the online application form.
- Candidates have to choose five (5) options/choices as Examination City from the list provided in the detailed advertisement.
- Examination City, once opted, will not be changed under any circumstances.
- In case of oversubscription/undersubscription at a particular City, candidates may be shifted to some other City.
5. How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted only through ONLINE registration by logging on to the official websites: www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in.
- Applications will NOT be accepted through any other mode.
- The application portal will be operational from 22.11.2025 to 14.12.2025 (till 2359 hours). Registrations outside this period will not be accepted.
6. Examination Fee
The fee has two components:
- Examination Fee: Rs. 100/-
- Recruitment Processing Charges: Rs. 550/-

Notes on Fee Payment:
- Note-1: SC/ST candidates, female candidates, PwBD, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempted from payment of the examination fee (Rs. 100/-). However, they will still have to pay the Recruitment Processing Charges (Rs. 550/-).
- Note-2: Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Govt. in Group 'C' post on a regular basis after availing reservation benefits are required to pay both the Examination Fee (Rs. 100/-) and Recruitment Processing Charges (Rs. 550/-).
- Note-3: Banking charges, if applicable, will be borne by the candidate.
7. Mode of Payment (Online/Offline Mode)
- The application form is integrated with the payment gateway. Payment can be completed by following the instructions.
- Payment can be made online via SBI EPAY LITE through Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, UPI, SBI challan etc.
- After submitting online payment, DO NOT PRESS BACK OR REFRESH BUTTON to avoid double charge.
- To ensure data security, close the browser window once your transaction is complete.
- A facility to print the application form containing fee details is available after payment.
- Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Online payments can be made only till the last date of submission of online application form.
- Payments through SBI challan generated on the last day of closure of online application forms can be submitted in the bank till 16.12.2025 (during banking hours only).
