Canara Bank, a leading Public Sector Bank, invites online applications from eligible Indian Citizens for the engagement of Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the financial year 2025-26. The Bank has a global presence with over 9800 branches.

General Information Regarding Training Seats
Eligibility Criteria & Other Details
All eligibility criteria (Age, Qualification, etc.) will be computed as on 01.09.2025 (inclusive).
Age Limit
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 28 years
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than 01.09.1997 and not later than 01.09.2005 (both days inclusive).
Age Relaxation
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years
- Widows, divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried: Up to 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years
Age relaxation is allowed on a cumulative basis for certain categories. The maximum age limit specified applies to General Category and EWS candidates.
Educational Qualification
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. of India or an equivalent qualification.
- Candidates must have passed their Graduation not earlier than 01.01.2022 and not later than 01.09.2025 (both days inclusive).
Test of Local Language
- Candidates producing 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing local language study are exempt from the test.
- For others, a local language test will be conducted during Document Verification. Failure to qualify will result in non-engagement.
Physical/Medical Fitness
Engagement is subject to being declared medically fit as per the Bank's requirements.
Reservation
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD will be as per prescribed government guidelines. PwBD reservation is horizontal and within overall training vacancies for the State. No reservation for Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen.
PwBD Definitions
The notice provides detailed definitions for various categories of benchmark disabilities as per "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016", including Visual Impairment (Blindness, Low Vision), Hearing Impaired (Deaf, Hard of Hearing), Orthopedically Challenged/Locomotor Disability (Leprosy cured person, Cerebral palsy, Dwarfism, Muscular dystrophy, Acid attack victims), Intellectual Disability (Autism Spectrum disorder, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness), and Multiple Disabilities. Only persons with a benchmark disability (not less than 40% of specified disability) and possessing an irreversible permanent disability certificate from a Competent Authority are eligible for reservation.
EWS (Economically Weaker Section)
Persons not covered under SC/ST/OBC reservations, whose family's gross annual income is below Rs. 8.00 lakh (for the financial year prior to application), and who do not own specific assets (e.g., 5 acres or more agricultural land, 1000 sq. ft. or more residential flat), are identified as EWS. An Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority is required.
Other Terms and Conditions
- Period of Apprenticeship Training: 12 Months.
- Place of Training: On-the-Job Training will be imparted at select branches.
- Profile: Apprentices will NOT be treated as employees of Canara Bank and will not receive employee benefits.
- Contract: Digital apprenticeship contract will be issued via
www.nats.education.gov.in and must be accepted on the NATS portal.
- Stipend: A monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/- will be paid. Canara Bank will pay Rs. 10,500/-, and the Government share of Rs. 4,500/- will be directly credited.
- Hours of Work: OJT during working hours applicable to clerical cadre.
- Overtime: Not allowed without Apprenticeship Adviser's approval.
- Leave: 12 Casual Leaves per year (1 per month of training), maximum 4 at a time.
- Holidays: As observed by the Bank.
- Conduct and Discipline: Misconduct may lead to termination. Apprentices are prohibited from joining/forming union bodies.
- Termination: Contract terminates on expiry, or may be terminated due to non-reporting, misbehavior, unsatisfactory performance (with 7 days' notice), or by application to the Apprenticeship Adviser.
- Certificate: NATS-joint certification will be awarded upon completion.
- Employment Obligation: Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment after completion of training.
- Waitlist: A state-category wise waitlist will be maintained for one year.
Registration Process
Candidates must first register on the Apprenticeship portal www.nats.education.gov.in and obtain an enrollment number. Only candidates with a 100% complete profile on the Apprenticeship portal are eligible to apply.
Selection Process
- A merit list will be prepared state-wise based on marks/percentage obtained in the 12th Std (HSC/10+2)/Diploma Examination.
- In case of a tie in percentage, age will be the tie-breaker (older candidates preferred).
- Minimum qualifying marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in 12th Std/Diploma. Fractional percentages will be ignored.
- Conversion norms for CGPA/OGPA to percentage must be produced.
- The merit list will be based on information submitted during online application. Any discrepancy during Document Verification will lead to disqualification.
- Final selection is subject to verification of eligibility, qualification in the local language test (where applicable), and medical fitness.

No other mode of application will be accepted. Candidates must mention their NATS enrollment ID while applying.
Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Candidates need to scan and upload:
- Photograph: (4.5cm × 3.5cm), recent passport-style color picture, light/white background, relaxed face, no squinting/harsh shadows/red-eye, dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred), file size 20kb-50kb.
- Signature: Black ink on white paper, dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred), file size 10kb-20kb. Not in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Left Thumb Impression: Black or blue ink on white paper, dimensions 240 x 240 pixels in 200 DPI (3cm x 3cm), file size 20KB-50KB. If left thumb is missing, use right thumb or fingers as specified in the detailed notification.
- Handwritten Declaration: In English, clearly written on white paper with black ink. Dimensions 800 x 400 pixels in 200 DPI (10cm x 5cm), file size 50KB-100KB. Not in CAPITAL LETTERS. The text for the declaration is:
“I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
Procedure for Applying Online
- Click on "CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION" to register and get a provisional registration number and password.
- Fill in basic information, upload scanned documents as per specifications.
- Carefully fill all fields, ensuring name spelling matches certificates.
- Payment of fees is online only (Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets).
- After successful transaction, an e-receipt will be generated. Candidates must take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form for future reference.
- No changes are allowed after the FINAL SUBMIT button is clicked. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
List of Documents to be Produced at the Time of Engagement
Candidates must submit the following original documents along with self-attested photocopies during engagement:
a) Valid system-generated printout of the online application.
b) Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC/Std. X Certificate).
c) Photo ID (Passport, Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, etc.).
d) Mark Sheets/Certificates from SSC examination onwards, including individual semester/year-wise mark sheets and final degree, with results declared on or before the cut-off date.
e) Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates).
f) Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer candidates) in prescribed format. Disability certificate for PwBD category.
g) Certificate from District Magistrate for age relaxation due to 1984 riots (if applicable).
h) Any other relevant eligibility documents.
