This notice is issued by the District Program Officer, Integrated Child Development Project, Ayodhya, for the recruitment of Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers.
Vacancy Details
Applications are invited for the following positions in urban and rural areas of Ayodhya district:
- Anganwadi Workers: 12 vacant posts
- Anganwadi Helpers: 936 vacant posts
Detailed village/ward-wise vacancies, along with reservation and eligibility criteria, are available on the notice boards of the Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan, Tehsil, and Vikas Khand offices of the district, and also uploaded on the official website.

Application Process
- Applications must be submitted online only through the departmental website: https://upanganwadibharti.in.
- No offline applications or documents will be accepted under any circumstances.
- Applicants must register, fill out the application form, upload self-attested, clear copies of all required documents (JPEG/PDF, max 2MB each), and track their application status.
- Any incomplete, erroneous, or fraudulent applications or documents will lead to outright rejection.
- There is no application fee.
Eligibility Criteria
Gender
- Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum: Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent for both Anganwadi Worker and Helper posts.
- Maximum: Merit will be prepared based on the highest educational qualification up to Post-graduation.
Age Limit (as of 2025-07-01)
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 35 years
- Age relaxations will be applicable as per Government rules.
- Date of birth proof will be based on the High School mark sheet/certificate.
Residence
- Applicants must be a permanent resident of the same ward/Gram Sabha where the vacant post is located.
- An online verifiable domicile certificate issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate will be accepted.
Special Categories & Documents
- Widows: Husband's death certificate and a copy of the family register/certificate from the concerned urban body will be valid.
- Legally Divorced/Abandoned Women: A court order proving legal divorce/abandonment will be valid.
- Income Certificate (for BPL applicants): An online verifiable income certificate issued by the Tehsildar will be accepted. The annual income limits are:
- Rural Areas: Rs. 46,080/-
- Urban Areas: Rs. 56,460/-
- These limits are as per Government Order No. 22/2015/2123/26-2-2015 dated 2015-09-14.

Selection Process
- Merit-Based Evaluation: Selection will be purely based on educational qualifications and eligibility criteria.
- No Written Examination will be conducted.
- District-Level Verification: The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office will verify documents and eligibility.
- Merit List Publication: The merit list will be displayed on the official portal and notice boards at the CDPO/DPO offices.
- Final Approval: Selection will be approved by a district-level committee after due verification.
- 50% Quota for Anganwadi Helpers: 50% of the Anganwadi Worker posts will be filled by eligible Anganwadi Helpers from the same Gram Sabha/Ward. Priority will be given to those with a minimum of 5 years of regular service, Intermediate qualification, and age not exceeding 50 years.
- Tie-breaking: In case of equal marks, the older candidate will be preferred. If both marks and age are equal, the candidate with higher educational qualification will be preferred.
- Reservation: Reservation rules for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will be strictly followed as per Government orders.
Selection Committee Composition
The selection committee for urban/rural areas will be constituted as follows:
- Chairman: District Magistrate nominated Chief Development Officer or Additional District Magistrate (senior administrative officer).
- Member Secretary: District Program Officer.
- Members:
- District Magistrate nominated SC/ST District Level Officer.
- District Magistrate nominated OBC District Level Officer.
- District Magistrate nominated Group 'A' or 'B' female officer in the district.
- Concerned Child Development Project Officer.
Service Conditions
- Service Termination: Service will automatically terminate at 62 years of age. It will also terminate if an Anganwadi Worker/Helper is elected to any public office (e.g., Gram Sabha member, Gram Pradhan, etc.). Service may also be terminated for non-performance of duties, unauthorized absence, or improper management of the center/nutrition distribution.
- Adjustments/Transfers: Anganwadi Workers/Helpers may be adjusted within the district with District Magistrate's approval if they relocate due to marriage and a vacancy exists (considering reservation).
- Family Rule: Two women from the same family cannot be appointed at the same Anganwadi center.
