Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification (as of 2025-11-05)
- Prohibition Constable / Mobile Squad Constable: Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board, or equivalent qualifications from Bihar State Madrasa Board (Maulvi Certificate) or Bihar State Sanskrit Board (Shastri/Acharya Certificate).
- Prison Warder: Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination from any state/central government recognized board/council.
Driving License (for Mobile Squad Constable only)
Candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license issued by a competent authority on or before 2025-09-26.
Age Limit (as of 2025-08-01)
Age will be calculated based on the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation (10th) or equivalent examination certificate.

- A minimum chest expansion of 5 cm is mandatory for male candidates.
Reservation Policy
- Reservation benefits are applicable only to permanent residents of Bihar State, as per Bihar Government rules. Candidates from outside Bihar will be treated as Unreserved (General) category.
- 35% horizontal reservation for women who are permanent residents of Bihar.
- 2% horizontal reservation for grandchildren of Bihar Freedom Fighters (who receive Central Government pension).
- Candidates claiming reservation must submit valid caste, domicile, and non-creamy layer (NCL) certificates (for BC/EBC) issued by the competent authority by the cut-off date.
- EWS certificates must be for the financial year 2024-2025 and issued by the competent authority by the cut-off date.
- For married women, caste and NCL certificates must be based on their father's name and address, not their husband's.
- Transgender persons are eligible for reservation as per BC category.
Application Fee
- For all categories: Rs. 100/-
- Bank charges will be extra and automatically deducted during online payment.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of three stages:
1. Written Examination (Qualifying)
- Nature: Objective type, 100 questions, 100 marks, 2-hour duration.
- Syllabus: Equivalent to Bihar School Examination Board's 10th (Matric) standard. Includes Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany), General Knowledge, and Current Affairs. - Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30% to be eligible for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
- The written exam is for shortlisting candidates for PET and Document Verification; it will not be considered for the final merit list.
- Candidates will be shortlisted for PET approximately 5 times the number of vacancies in each category.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (100 Marks)
- The final merit list for Prohibition Constable, Prison Warder (Direct Recruitment), and Mobile Squad Constable will be based on the total marks obtained in the PET events.
- All three events (Race, Shot Put, High Jump) must be qualified individually.
Race (50 Marks)
- Males (1 Mile / 1.6 km, maximum 6 minutes):
- Less than 5 minutes: 50 marks
- 5 minutes to 5 minutes 20 seconds: 40 marks
- 5 minutes 20 seconds to 5 minutes 40 seconds: 30 marks
- 5 minutes 40 seconds to 6 minutes: 20 marks
- More than 6 minutes: Fail
- Females (1 Km, maximum 5 minutes):
- Less than 4 minutes: 50 marks
- 4 minutes to 4 minutes 20 seconds: 40 marks
- 4 minutes 20 seconds to 4 minutes 40 seconds: 30 marks
- 4 minutes 40 seconds to 5 minutes: 20 marks
- More than 5 minutes: Fail
Shot Put (25 Marks)
- Males (16 lb shot, minimum 16 feet):
- 16 to 17 feet: 9 marks
- More than 17 to 18 feet: 13 marks
- More than 18 to 19 feet: 17 marks
- More than 19 to 20 feet: 21 marks
- More than 20 feet: 25 marks
- Less than 16 feet: Fail (Max 3 attempts)
- Females (12 lb shot, minimum 12 feet):
- 12 to 13 feet: 9 marks
- More than 13 to 14 feet: 13 marks
- More than 14 to 15 feet: 17 marks
- More than 15 to 16 feet: 21 marks
- More than 16 feet: 25 marks
- Less than 12 feet: Fail (Max 3 attempts)
High Jump (25 Marks)
- Males (Minimum 4 feet):
- 4 feet: 13 marks
- 4 feet 4 inches: 17 marks
- 4 feet 8 inches: 21 marks
- 5 feet: 25 marks
- Less than 4 feet: Fail (Max 3 attempts)
- Females (Minimum 3 feet):

3. Document Verification
Candidates successful in PET will undergo document verification. Original certificates and self-attested copies of all documents are required. No second opportunity will be given for document submission.

- Caste Certificate, Permanent Residence Certificate, and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate (for BC/EBC). NCL certificate must be current (for FY 2024-2025) or accompanied by Form xviiiB if older than one year.
- EWS Certificate (for FY 2024-2025)

- Ex-servicemen documents (valid ID card, Discharge Book, PPO original) for Prison Warder (Ex-servicemen quota).

All selected candidates will undergo medical examination and character verification by the respective appointing authorities prior to appointment.
