Candidates can choose up to three centres in order of priority. No changes to centres will be entertained later.

Scheme of Examination

The examination comprises a Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT), followed by Medical Examination.

Marks from the Computer Based Examination (CBE), if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized using a formula published by the Commission (Notice dated 2025-06-02).

The schedule for the CBE is tentative; any changes will be communicated via the Commission's website.

Computer-Based Examination Details

The CBE will consist of one objective-type multiple-choice paper with 100 questions, carrying 100 marks, distributed as follows:

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

The CBE will be conducted in English and Hindi only.

Tentative Answer Keys will be released online, allowing candidates to submit representations within a specified timeframe upon payment of ₹50/- per question. Decisions on representations are final.

Final Answer Keys and marks will be available on the Commission's website after result declaration. Re-evaluation/re-checking of scores is not permitted.

Syllabus for Computer Based Examination

  • General Knowledge/Current Affairs: Tests general awareness, knowledge of current events, everyday observations, and experience in scientific aspects. Includes questions on India and its neighbours, particularly Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research.
  • Reasoning: Assesses analytical aptitude and ability to discern patterns, primarily through non-verbal questions. Topics include analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, visual memory, discrimination, observations, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, number/non-verbal series, and coding/decoding.
  • Numerical Ability: Covers problems related to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, and Time and Work.
  • Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers etc.: Includes Word Processing (basics, document handling, text creation/formatting), MS Excel (spreadsheets, cell editing, functions, formulas), Communication (E-mail basics, sending/receiving), and Internet, WWW and Web Browsers (services, URL, HTTP, FTP, websites, blogs, browsing software, search engines, chat, video conferencing, e-banking).

The question paper will be of Matriculation Level.

Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT)

Physical Endurance Test for Male Candidates

Candidates who qualify in the Race will proceed to Long Jump and High Jump. Each of these events must be cleared in one of three chances. No appeal against disqualification in these events.

Standard of Physical Measurement for Male Candidates

  • Height: Minimum 170 cm, relaxable by:
    • 5 cm for residents of Hill areas (Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh & Ladakh). A certificate from a competent authority (DC/DM/SDM or Tehsildar) is required.
    • 5 cm for ST candidates.
    • 5 cm for sons of serving, retired, or deceased Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.
  • Chest: 81 cm with a minimum 4 cm expansion (81 - 85 cm), relaxable by:
    • 5 cm for residents of Hill areas as listed above.
    • 5 cm for ST candidates.
    • 5 cm in case of sons of serving, retired, or deceased Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.

Physical Endurance Test for Female Candidates

Pregnant female candidates, or those who have recently given birth/had a miscarriage, will not be allowed to participate in the PET and will be declared temporarily unfit. Their results will be sealed and vacancies reserved. Re-examination for PET will occur six weeks after confinement (6 months for delivery, 45 days for miscarriage), upon production of a medical fitness certificate.

Standard of Physical Measurement for Female Candidates

  • Height: Minimum 157 cm, relaxable by:
    • 2 cm for residents of Hill areas (as listed for male candidates), with a required certificate.
    • 2 cm for SC/ST candidates.
    • 5 cm in case of daughters of serving, retired, or deceased Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.

Relaxations in height and chest are permissible only for candidates who claim them in their online application and provide the requisite certificate during PE&MT.

Candidates declared unqualified in Physical Standards (height and chest) may appeal on the same day to the Appellate Authority; the decision will be final. No appeal against the Physical Endurance Test.

Conduct of PE&MT and Medical Examination is the sole responsibility of the Delhi Police. The Commission will not entertain any representations/appeals concerning these decisions.

Note: Candidates previously disqualified from PE&MT in any event (race, high jump, long jump) for this examination will have their prior result treated as final. Concealing prior disqualification and subsequently qualifying will result in the original disqualification prevailing.

Medical Standard

Candidates must be in sound health, free from defects/deformities/diseases, with vision 6/12 without glasses in both eyes, free from colour blindness, and without any correction (e.g., glasses, surgery) to improve visual acuity. No relaxation is allowed.

Tattoos Policy

  • Content: Tattoos depicting religious symbols/figures and names, as per Indian Army traditions, are permitted.
  • Location: Tattoos on traditional sites, such as the inner aspect of the forearm (left forearm only) or dorsum of the hands, are allowed.
  • Size: Must be less than ¼ of the particular body part (Elbow or Hand).

Admission to the Examination Centre

All provisionally accepted candidates will be assigned a Roll Number and issued an Admission Certificate (AC) for the Computer Based Examination. Shortlisted candidates will receive a separate AC for subsequent stages.

The Commission will provisionally accept candidatures based on the online application form. Detailed scrutiny of eligibility will occur during PE&MT/Document Verification. Candidates must ensure they meet all essential qualifications, age, physical, and medical standards. If any claims in the online application are unsubstantiated during scrutiny, candidature will be cancelled.
