Notes on Reservation:

  • The nature of disability is defined as: VI - Visual Impairment, DD - Deaf and Dumb, OH - Locomotor Disability, and MD/MUD - Intellectual Disability/Multiple Disabilities.
  • Only benchmark disabled residents of Bihar are eligible for horizontal reservation.
  • Only resident women candidates of Bihar are eligible for 35% horizontal reservation.
  • All stated vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease.

Age Limit

The age of the candidate will be calculated as of 01.08.2025.

  • Minimum Age: 21 years for all categories.
  • Maximum Age:
    • Unreserved (Male): 37 years
    • Backward Class & Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female): 40 years
    • Unreserved (Female): 40 years
    • Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe (Male & Female): 42 years
    • Disabled candidates of all categories: 10 years relaxation in addition to the maximum age limit for their respective category.
  • The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent certificate will be considered valid.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on marks obtained in the written examination and interview, followed by a merit list based on reservation categories.

  • Written Examination: 150 marks
  • Interview: 50 marks
  • Total: 200 marks

Nature of Examination

  • The questions will be objective and multiple-choice, as per notification no. 3748 dated 29.08.2025 from the Sports Department, Bihar, Patna.
  • Total questions: 150. Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark.
  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Medium: Hindi/English (English version will be final in case of any discrepancy).
  • Tie-breaking Rule: In case of equal marks, the candidate older by date of birth will be placed higher in the merit list. If both marks and age are equal, candidates will be ranked based on the alphabetical order of their names (A to Z).
  • Preliminary Examination: If more than 40,000 applications are received, a preliminary examination will be conducted. Candidates equal to five times the total vacancies will be selected for the main examination. A separate advertisement for the main examination will be published.

Preliminary Examination Structure

  • General Knowledge: 30 Questions, 30 Marks
  • Allied Science in Sports: 60 Questions, 60 Marks
  • Main Sports: 60 Questions, 60 Marks
  • Total: 150 Questions, 150 Marks

Qualifying Marks

As per resolution no. 2374 dated 16.07.2007 of the General Administration Department, Bihar, Patna, the minimum qualifying marks for the written examination and interview are as follows:

It is mandatory to obtain minimum qualifying marks separately in both the written examination and the interview.

Examination Fee

As per resolution no. 15568 dated 21.08.2025 of the General Administration Department, Bihar, Patna, the examination fee for all candidates is Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only).

  • Processing charges and service tax will be borne by the candidate.
  • Fees can be paid online via Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Net Banking.
  • Fee Payment Period: From 09.10.2025 to 09.11.2025.
  • Simply registering and paying the fee does not mean the online application is complete. The examination fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

Reservation Policy

  • Reservation benefits will be provided as per the prevailing reservation rules of the State Government and based on certificates issued by the competent authority of the State Government.
  • Reservation benefits will only be given to candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar.
  • Candidates claiming reservation must submit their Permanent Residential Certificate.
  • Specific documents required for SC/ST, Extremely Backward Class, Backward Class, EWS, Disabled, and descendants of Freedom Fighters are detailed in the full notice.
  • For married women, Caste/Creamy Layer certificates must be issued based on their father's name and address, not their husband's.
  • EWS reservation (10%) will be provided as per notification no. 2622 dated 26.02.2019 of the General Administration Department, Bihar.
  • 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) (40% or more disability) is applicable. Certificates must be issued by a Government Medical College or Hospital in Bihar.
  • Scribe facility is available for eligible disabled candidates, requiring a specific declaration during online application.
  • 35% horizontal reservation for women is applicable only to women who are permanent residents of Bihar.
  • 2% horizontal reservation is available for the grandchildren of Freedom Fighters who have been granted pension by the Central Government. A certificate from the District Magistrate is required.
  • All required certificates must be issued by the final date of online application submission.

Important Instructions

  • The commission's decision on eligibility will be final. Issuance of an admit card does not confirm candidature.
  • Candidature will be cancelled if any lobbying, false information, or attempts to unfairly influence the selection process are made.
  • Candidates must scan and upload their Hindi and English signatures.
  • The commission is not responsible for internet or banking disruptions. Candidates should complete the process before the last date.
  • Candidates must review their application before submitting and use the 'Edit' option if any corrections are needed.
  • Only one online application is allowed per candidate. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation of all applications.
  • A valid and active mobile number and email ID are mandatory for communication.
  • Candidates must safely keep their Application Form Number/Registration Number/Roll Number. No duplicates will be issued later.
  • The written examination may be conducted online (Computer Based Test) or offline.
  • Biometric Thumb Impression/Iris Capture may be taken during the examination. Any discrepancy will lead to legal action.
  • Candidates debarred by UPSC/State Public Service Commissions are not eligible.
  • No marks will be provided for cancelled candidatures.
  • The commission's decision regarding eligibility, application acceptance/rejection, selection process, examination conduct, center allocation, and result preparation will be final and binding.
