State Bank of India (SBI) invites applications from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Circle Based Officers. Selected candidates will be posted in the applied Circle only.

Candidates must apply for a vacancy in one Circle only. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD categories is applicable as per government norms.

Eligibility Criteria (as on 31.12.2025)

Academic Qualifications

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates with qualifications like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant are also eligible.

Age Limit

  • Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 31.12.2025. Candidates must have been born not later than 31.12.2004 and not earlier than 01.01.1996 (both days inclusive).

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):
    • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years
    • PwBD (OBC): 13 Years
    • PwBD (Gen/EWS): 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years

Experience (as on 31.12.2025)

  • Minimum 2 years' experience (Post Essential Academic Qualification) as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank.

Local Language Proficiency

  • Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, and understanding) in one of the specified local languages of the Circle they are applying for. A language proficiency test will be conducted as a part of the selection process for provisionally selected candidates.

Application Fee

  • General/EWS/OBC: ₹750/-
  • SC/ST/PwBD: Nil
  • The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.

Selection Procedure

The selection process will consist of an Online Test, Screening, and Interview.

  1. Online Test (170 Marks):

    • Objective Test (120 Marks, 2 Hours): The test will have separate timings for each section.
      • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks, 30 minutes
      • Banking Knowledge: 40 questions, 40 marks, 40 minutes
      • General Awareness/Economy: 30 questions, 30 marks, 30 minutes
      • Computer Aptitude: 20 questions, 20 marks, 20 minutes
      • There is no penalty for wrong answers.
    • Descriptive Test (50 Marks, 30 Minutes): A test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
  2. Screening: Applications of candidates who qualify the online test will be screened to verify eligibility and experience.

  3. Interview (50 Marks): Candidates numbering up to 3 times the vacancies will be called for an interview based on the merit list of the online test.

  4. Final Selection: The final merit list will be prepared by aggregating the normalized marks of the Online Test and Interview with a weightage of 75:25 respectively.

Emoluments

  • The starting basic pay is ₹48,480/- in the scale of ₹48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920, applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I, plus 2 advance increments. The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, PF, NPS, LFC, Medical Facility, etc.
