Introduction

It is hereby informed to the general public that, in accordance with Government Order No. 1/1092245/2025/3313/58-1-2025 (1917687) dated September 17, 2025, online applications are invited from eligible female candidates for the direct recruitment of Anganwadi Assistants in urban/rural areas of Basti district. The details of vacant posts project-wise are as follows:

Special Instructions for Eligibility and Application

  1. Only female candidates are eligible for the advertised posts.
  2. The minimum educational qualification for Anganwadi Assistant posts is Intermediate (12th grade) or equivalent, and the maximum is Post-Graduate. Merit will be determined based on qualifications from Intermediate to Post-Graduate levels.
  3. The applicant must be a permanent resident of the ward/gram sabha where the vacant post is located.
  4. Age Limit: The applicant's age must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 35 years as of the cut-off date of July 01, 2025. The date of birth recorded in the High School mark sheet/certificate will be considered valid.
  5. Selection Preference Order:
    • Widowed women from families living below the poverty line (BPL) residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward (in urban areas).
    • Legally divorced or abandoned women from BPL families residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
    • If no widowed/divorced/abandoned BPL candidate is found, then women from BPL families residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
    • If no such candidate is found as per the above preference order, then:
      • Widowed women from families living above the poverty line (APL) residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
      • Legally divorced or abandoned women from APL families residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
      • If no widowed/divorced/abandoned APL candidate is found, then women from APL families residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward.
    • If no eligible candidate from any of these categories is available in the same Gram Sabha, selection will be made category-wise from the concerned Nyaya Panchayat.

Document Validity

  1. Proof of Status:
    • For Widows: Death certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Officer/concerned Municipal Body and a certified copy of the family register.
    • For Divorced/Abandoned: Legal order issued by the Hon'ble Court.
    • For Income Certificate: Income certificates issued by a competent authority as per Uttar Pradesh Government Order No. 3959/1-9-11-Raj0-9 dated 30.09.2011 (as amended) will be valid. Online verification should be possible.
    • Poverty Line Income Limits: As per Uttar Pradesh Government Order No. 22/2015/2123/26-2-2015 dated 14.09.2015 (as amended), the annual income limit for rural areas is Rs. 46,080.00 and for urban areas is Rs. 56,460.00.
    • For Residence and Caste Certificates: Certificates issued by the Tehsil with online digital signatures will be valid. Online verification should be possible.

Application Process

  1. Only online applications submitted through the departmental website http://upanganwadibharti.in within the stipulated timeframe will be accepted. Offline applications will not be considered valid. Applications must be filled correctly and carefully. Self-attested, clear, and readable copies of documents must be uploaded as specified in the online form. No application or documents submitted offline or by post will be accepted. If any error, fact, figure, or educational marks/grades are found incorrect or fabricated, the candidature will be rejected.

  1. The last date for online application is December 02, 2025, until midnight (12:00 AM).

General Rule

  1. Two women from the same family will not be appointed as an Anganwadi Worker/Assistant in one Anganwadi Center.
