Recruitment of Meritorious Sports Persons to the Post of Constable (General Duty) Under Sports Quota - 2025 in Border Security Force

Introduction

Online applications are invited by the Border Security Force (BSF) from eligible Indian citizens (Male & Female) for the recruitment of 549 vacancies for the post of Constable (General Duty) under the Sports Quota. These are Group "C" Non-Gazetted & Non-Ministerial posts on a temporary basis, likely to be made permanent.

Pay Scale and Other Allowances

• Pay Level: Level-3
• Pay Scale: Rs. 21,700 - 69,100/-
• Other allowances are admissible as per Central Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01/08/2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 23 years
• Age Relaxation: Applicable for SC/ST by 5 years and for OBC (NCL) by 3 years.

Educational Qualification

• Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board.

Sports Qualification

• Players who have participated or won medals in recognized International/National sports events held between 15/01/2024 and 15/01/2026.

Physical Standards

Height

• Male: 170 cms
• Female: 157 cms
• Relaxation is available for candidates belonging to specific categories and regions (e.g., Scheduled Tribes, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, etc.).

Chest (For Male candidates only)

• Un-expanded: 80 cms
• Minimum expansion: 05 cms
• Relaxation is available for specific categories.

Medical Standards

• Eye Sight: Minimum distant vision of 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction.
• Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint in eyes and must be in good mental and bodily health.

Application Process

• Application Mode: Online only through the BSF Recruitment website: https://rectt.bsf.gov.in
• Application Fee: Rs. 159/- for Male candidates belonging to General (UR) and OBC category. Females and candidates belonging to SC/ST are exempted from fee payment.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of the following stages:

1. Documentation: Verification of original documents.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of height, chest, etc.
3. Detailed Medical Examination (DME): To assess medical fitness.

A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate for their sports achievements as per the table provided in the notification.
