National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, is inviting online applications for direct recruitment to various teaching and non-teaching posts. The posts include Principal, Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), Hostel Warden (Male and Female), Female Staff Nurse, Accountant, Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Lab Attendant.
Staff in EMRS are required to perform residential duties and are eligible for a special pay of 10% of their basic pay. Candidates may be posted anywhere in India.

Functional Requirements & Suitable Categories for PwBD
Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) is as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016. Candidates must ensure they meet the functional requirements for the specific post(s) prior to applying. Eligibility Criteria & Qualification
Age Limit:
- Principal: Not exceeding 50 years.
- PGTs: Not exceeding 40 years.
- TGTs (including Computer Science, Art, Music, Physical Education, Librarian): Not exceeding 35 years.
- Female Staff Nurse, Hostel Warden: Up to 35 years.
- Accountant, Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Not exceeding 30 years.
- Lab Attendant: Up to 30 years.
Age Relaxation Policy:
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years.
- Other Backward Classes (NCL): 3 years.
- Candidates with 3 years' continuous service in Central Govt.: 5 years.
- Persons ordinarily domiciled in UT of J&K (during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 years.
- Women (All Category) only if applying for PGTs/TGTs posts: 10 years.
- Persons with Disabilities (including women): SC/ST: 15 years, OBC: 13 years, General: 10 years.
- For other than permanent employees working in EMRS as on 01.07.2025: Up to 55 years.
- EMRS employees (appointed on regular basis): Up to 55 years.

Essential Qualifications (Post-wise summaries):
- Principal:
- Master's Degree (at least 50% marks) AND Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from NCTE recognized institution (at least 50% marks) OR Three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. OR Four-year Integrated graduation degree with B.Ed. component (at least 50% marks).
- Experience: Analogous posts, Vice-Principal/Assistant Education Officer, or PGT/Lecturer with specified service period.
- Desirable: Experience in residential school, proficiency in English, Hindi, and Regional Language, computer knowledge.
- PGTs:
- Integrated Post Graduate Course from NCTE recognized institution in the concerned subject (at least 50% marks) OR Post Graduation (Master) Degree (at least 50% marks) in the concerned subject.
- Subject-specific requirements are detailed for English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Economics, Biology, History, Geography, Commerce.
- TGTs:
- Four years integrated graduation degree course from NCTE recognized institution (at least 50% marks) OR Bachelors/Honours Degree from a recognized institution (at least 50% marks) in all subjects individually and in aggregate.
- Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from NCTE recognized institution (at least 50% marks) OR Three years integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
- CTET (Paper-II) Qualified.
- Specific subject combinations for Hindi, English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Regional Language are detailed.
- TGT (Computer Science): M.Sc. (CS/IT)/MCA/M.E. or M. Tech. (CS/IT) (at least 50% marks).
- Art Teacher: Bachelor's degree in Drawing and Painting/Sculpture/Graphic Art/Fine Arts/Visual art (at least 50% marks).
- Music Teacher: Bachelor's Degree in Music/Performing Arts from a UGC recognized institution (at least 50% marks).
- Physical Education Teacher (Male/Female): Four-year integrated B.P. Ed. course OR Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education/Sports with B.P. Ed. (at least 50% marks).
- Librarian: Bachelor's Degree in Library Science OR Integrated Master of Library & Information Science (at least 50% marks).
- Female Staff Nurse: B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing OR Regular B.Sc. Nursing OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (all from recognized institutions). Must be a Registered Nurse or Nurse Mid-wife. 2.5 years experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital.
- Hostel Warden: Four years integrated graduation degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT or other NCTE recognized institution in concerned subject OR Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university/institute.
- Accountant: Bachelors Degree in Commerce from a recognized University/Institute.
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Senior Secondary (Class XII) certificate. Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi.
- Lab Attendant: 10th Class Pass with a certificate/diploma in Laboratory technique OR 12th Class with Science stream (from a recognized board/institute).
For all teaching posts, proficiency in teaching in English & Hindi is required.
Scheme of Examination
The selection process generally involves:
- Tier-I (Preliminary - Qualifying): OMR Based (Pen-Paper) Objective type, 100 marks. (For Principal, PGTs, TGTs, Hostel Warden, Accountant, Female Staff Nurse, JSA, Lab Attendant).
- Tier-II (Main - Subject Knowledge Examination): Combination of Descriptive and OMR Based (Pen-Paper) Objective type, 100 marks.
- Interview: For the post of Principal (after Tier-II).
- Skill Test: For the post of Junior Secretariat Assistant (after Tier-II).
Exam Pattern Details (Tier-I & Tier-II for each post category):
- Principal:
- Tier-I (Qualifying): Reasoning & Numeric Ability (10), General Awareness (10), Academics and residential aspects (30), Administration and Finance (30), Language Competency Test (20 - General English & Hindi, 10 marks each). Total 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
- Tier-II (Subject Knowledge): Academic & residential aspects (40 objective, 15 descriptive), Administration & Finance (40 objective, 15 descriptive). Total 100 marks (40 objective, 60 descriptive), 3 hours duration.
- Tier-III: Personal Interaction/Interview: 40 marks. Merit list based on 80% written test (Tier-II) and 20% Interview.
- PGTs:
- Tier-I (Qualifying): General Awareness (10), Reasoning Ability (15), Knowledge of ICT (15), Teaching Aptitude (30), Domain Knowledge (30 - Experiential pedagogy 20, NEP-2020 10), Language Competency Test (20 - General English & Hindi, 10 marks each). Total 100 marks, 2 hours 30 mins duration. Language Competency is qualifying (min 40% aggregate).
- Tier-II (Subject Knowledge): Subject specific syllabus (40 objective, 15 descriptive). Total 100 marks (40 objective, 60 descriptive), 3 hours duration. Merit list based on Tier-II performance only.
- TGTs:
- Tier-I (Qualifying): General Awareness (10), Reasoning Ability (15), Knowledge of ICT (15), Teaching Aptitude (30), Domain Knowledge (30 - Experiential pedagogy 20, NEP-2020 10), Language Competency Test (30 - General English, Hindi, Regional Language, 10 marks each). Total 100 marks, 2 hours 30 mins duration. Language Competency is qualifying (min 40% aggregate, i.e., 12 out of 30).
- Tier-II (Subject Knowledge): Subject specific syllabus (40 objective, 15 descriptive). Total 100 marks (40 objective, 60 descriptive), 3 hours duration. Merit list based on Tier-II performance only.
- Hostel Warden (Male & Female):
- Tier-I (Qualifying): General Awareness (10), Reasoning Ability (15), Knowledge of ICT (15), Quantitative Aptitude (30), Language Competency Test (30 - General English, Hindi, Regional Language, 10 marks each). Total 100 marks, 2 hours duration.

- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):
- Tier-I (Qualifying): Reasoning Ability (25), Quantitative Aptitude (25), General Awareness (20), Basic Knowledge of Computer Operation (10), Language Competency Test (20 - General English & Hindi, 10 marks each). Total 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
- Tier-II (Subject Knowledge): Subject specific syllabus (40 objective, 15 descriptive). Total 100 marks (40 objective, 60 descriptive), 3 hours duration.
- Tier-III: Typing Test (50 marks, 20 qualifying marks). Candidates shortlisted for typing test based on Tier-II merit in ratio 1:3. Merit list for JSA based on Tier-II performance only after qualifying typing test.
- Lab Attendant:
- Tier-I (Qualifying): Reasoning Ability (25), Quantitative Aptitude (25), General Awareness (20), Basic Knowledge of Computer Operation (10), Language Competency Test (20 - General English & Hindi, 10 marks each). Total 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
- Tier-II (Subject Knowledge): Subject specific syllabus (40 objective, 15 descriptive). Total 100 marks (40 objective, 60 descriptive), 3 hours duration. Merit list based on Tier-II performance only.
Marking Scheme:
- One mark for every correct answer.
- 1/3 mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Unanswered questions will not be given any marks.
Unfair Means Practices and Breach of Examination Rules
Any activity allowing an unfair advantage is considered an unfair means practice. This includes possession of prohibited items, impersonation, communication during the exam, assisting others, manipulating documents, using electronic devices, etc. Candidates found using unfair means will be disqualified, liable for criminal proceedings, and their result will be cancelled.
General Instructions
- Candidates must apply online only. Applications in any other mode will not be accepted.
- Ensure valid email ID and mobile number are active for communication.
- Admit Cards will be issued through the NESTS website; no physical admit cards will be sent by post.
- Candidates must carry a printed copy of the Admit Card, one passport-size photograph (same as uploaded), and a valid photo ID to the examination center.
- PwBD candidates claiming compensatory time/scribe must bring the relevant disability certificates as per Appendix-VA/VB/VC/VD/VE.
- The examination agency reserves the right to allot examination cities anywhere in India on a random basis. Examination city/centre once allotted will not be changed.
