  • First Shift (Morning):

General Instructions for Candidates

  • Aadhaar registration is mandatory.
  • Candidates must bring an original photo identification card (Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, or Passport). e-Aadhaar is valid if verified by UIDAI.
  • It is mandatory to bring original ID proof, Aadhaar card/e-Aadhaar card/photocopy of Aadhaar card/Aadhaar number/Aadhaar VID information.
  • Biometric verification will be conducted at the entry and during the examination.
  • Entry to the examination center will only be permitted until the reporting time. Latecomers will not be allowed.
  • Electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, log tables, sunglasses, and any form of rough paper are strictly prohibited in the examination hall.
  • Candidates should retain their online application number, as it is required to download the admit card.
  • Candidates must bring a ballpoint pen and the downloaded admit card to the examination center.
  • Leaving the examination hall before the completion of the exam is not permitted.
  • Document verification will be conducted by the concerned department during the appointment process, not by the ESB during the application. Eligibility is provisional.

General Conditions

  • Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • Candidates with more than two living children, where one was born on or after 2001-01-26, are generally ineligible. An exception applies if multiple children are born in a single delivery.
  • Mandatory Certificates Required by 2025-11-10:
    • Age and Age Relaxation Certificate
    • Educational Qualification Certificate
    • Ex-Servicemen Certificate (if applicable)
    • Reservation Certificate (if applicable)
  • Other required documents will be verified during the physical test.
  • Government employees must inform their appointing authority before applying.
  • Candidates declared ineligible or removed from service on disciplinary grounds are not eligible.
  • Selected candidates who fail to report by the prescribed date will be removed from the selection list. Medical certificates or other grounds will not be accepted without prior written permission from the competent authority.
  • Disabled persons are exempt from recruitment to the Police Department as per MP Government Home (Police) Department circular F-2(a)/541/92/B/(4)/Two/Bhopal dated 1995-04-04.

  • Ex-servicemen Age Relaxation: The duration of military service will be deducted from their current age, provided their remaining age does not exceed the upper age limit by more than 3 years.

Educational Qualifications

  • For Sub Inspector (GD - other than SAF), Female Sub Inspector, Sub Inspector (GD - Special Armed Force), and Subedar: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or equivalent is required. No relaxation in educational qualifications will be granted.

Pay Scale

  • Subedar, Sub Inspector (GD - Special Armed Force), and Sub Inspector (GD - other than SAF): Level 9 (₹36,200 - ₹1,14,800).
  • Note: As per MP Government General Administration Department circular dated 2019-12-12, the minimum pay will be 70% of the basic pay in the first year, 80% in the second year, and 90% in the third year. The Defined Contribution Pension Scheme is applicable for employees appointed on or after 2005-01-01.

Examination Scheme

Phase 1: Preliminary Written Examination (Appendix One)

  • Conducted by the MP Employees Selection Board, Bhopal.
  • Consists of multiple-choice questions.
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Negative Marking: None
  • Subjects: Hindi Language Comprehension, English Language Comprehension, Analytical Ability, History, Geography, Science, Civics, Basic Computer Knowledge, Reasoning, Current Affairs.
  • This phase is qualifying (provisional). Candidates equal to 10 times the number of vacancies will be selected for Phase 2.

Phase 2

  1. Main Written Examination (Appendix Two)

    • Conducted by the MP Employees Selection Board, Bhopal.
    • Consists of two separate papers, each for 300 marks and 2 hours duration.
    • Paper I (General Studies - 300 Marks):
      • Part A: History and Indian Society (150 Marks)
      • Part B: Governance, Constitution and Politics, Social Justice and Legislation (150 Marks)
    • Paper II (General Studies - 300 Marks):
      • Part A: Current Affairs, Technology, Economic Development, Environment and Internal Security (150 Marks)
      • Part B: Logic and Interpretation of Numbers (150 Marks)
    • Questions will be objective type with 1/3 negative marking for wrong answers.
    • Candidates equal to 3 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the Physical Efficiency Test and Interview.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Appendix Three)

    • Total Marks: 100
    • Events:
      • 800 meters race: 40 marks (1 attempt)
      • Long Jump: 30 marks (3 attempts)
      • Shot Put: 30 marks (3 attempts)
    • A minimum of 30% marks in PET is required for appointment consideration.
  3. Interview: 50 marks.

Physical Standards

  • Height:
    • Male: 167.5 cm or more
    • Female: 152.4 cm or more
  • Chest (only for males):
    • Unexpanded: Minimum 81 cm
    • Expanded: Minimum 86 cm (with a mandatory expansion of 5 cm)
  • Vision:
    • No eye disease/disorder. Visual acuity of 6/9 or better (without glasses). The other eye should have 6/12 or better vision (without glasses).
    • Ability to distinguish main colors (tested using Ishihara Plate).
  • Physical Condition: No knock-knees, flat feet, or any physical disability.
  • Medical examinations will be conducted by District, Divisional, and State Medical Boards. Video recording of the medical examination will be done. Colour Blindness will be tested using Ishihara Plates and the Anomaloscope Test.
  • Candidates must be medically fit.

Character Verification

  • Providing false information or concealing facts in the character verification form will lead to disqualification. If discovered after appointment, service will be terminated without notice.
  • Verification will be conducted as per MP Government Home Department order F-17-01/2017/Two/C-2 dated 2018-07-24.
  • The criteria will be in accordance with the Supreme Court judgment in Mehar Singh vs. Commissioner of Police.

Appointment

  • Appointments will be based on merit, candidate preference, and unit availability.
  • A minimum of 5 years of service is required in the allotted unit before a transfer can be requested.
  • Subedars/Sub Inspectors recruited in Naxal-affected areas will be eligible for promotion after 2 years of service.
  • Selected candidates for the District Executive Force will not be posted in their home district.

Training

  • Successful completion of training is mandatory.
  • Unsuccessful candidates will be given one additional opportunity. Failure to clear training after the second attempt will result in termination with one month's notice.
  • There are no permanent or temporary exemptions from training.
  • Mutual seniority of officers will be determined based on 50% of the written examination marks and 50% of the basic training marks.

Application Process

  • Only online applications will be accepted.
  • Candidates must submit a single application for multiple posts, clearly indicating their preferences.
  • Minimum educational qualifications must be fulfilled by the application deadline.
  • Uploaded certificates will be verified. Any false information will lead to the cancellation of the application.
  • A scanned color photograph, signature, and a handwritten declaration (in Hindi: "मैं घोषणा करता/करती हूँ कि मेरे द्वारा आवेदन में दी गई समस्त जानकारी पूर्णतः सत्य है। यदि मेरे द्वारा दी गई जानकारी किसी भी स्तर पर झूठी या पात्रता मापदंड की आवश्यकताओं अनुसार संतोषजनक नहीं पाई जाती है तो मेरी उम्मीदवारी रदद् की जा सकती हैं।") are mandatory uploads.
  • The photograph should be recent (not older than 3 months), clear, with a white background, and show both ears. The date and candidate's name should be clearly visible on the photograph.
  • Signatures must be clear, consistent, and not in capital letters.
  • Aadhaar card/VID is mandatory for application. Biometric verification will be conducted at the registration desk.

Fee Payment

  • Application fees can be paid via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Internet Banking.
  • Payments can also be made through authorized MP Online kiosks.

Application Correction

  • Corrections to the online application are permitted during the specified dates (2025-10-27 to 2025-11-15) by paying a correction fee for each modification.
  • If a candidate changes their category from reserved to unreserved, no refund for the difference in application fee will be provided. Conversely, if changing from unreserved to reserved, the candidate must pay the additional fee.
