Intimation About Medical Unfitness and Provision for Appeal for CEN NO: 03/2024

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Guwahati has released a list of candidates who have been found unfit in the prescribed medical category after undergoing medical examination in Railway Hospitals against notification CEN NO: 03/2024.

Appeal Against Medical Unfitness

Candidates who wish to appeal the decision of the medical committee may submit an appeal for medical re-examination. The appeal must be submitted in the format provided (Annexure B) and addressed to:

The appeal must be routed through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati. It can be delivered by speed post or by hand.

  • Last Date to Submit Appeal: 20.02.2026 (before 17:00 hours)

Procedure and Conditions for Appeal

An appeal will only be entertained if the following conditions are met:

  1. The appeal, with due justification and signed by the candidate, indicating their Roll No., Registration No., and Date of Document Verification, must be received by the office.
  2. The candidate must produce a certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure A) from a Government/Private Doctor of the specialty in which the candidate was found unfit.
  3. The certificate must include a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards required by the Railways for the specific medical category and is aware that the candidate was previously declared unfit by a Medical Board of Senior Railway Doctors.
  4. The certificate must bear a photograph and mark of identification of the candidate, duly attested by the issuing authority. The issuing authority's full name, designation, address, and MCI/State Registration Number must be clearly mentioned.

Appeal Fee

Candidates appealing the decision are required to pay a fee of Rs. 1,000/- through a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favour of PFA, N.F. Railway, Maligaon.

  • Refund Policy: If the appeal is considered and the decision is changed from 'Unfit' to 'Fit', the DD will be refunded to the candidate. In all other cases, the amount will be credited to the Railway.
