Introduction

This notice announces an Open Competitive Examination for the recruitment of Constable (Executive) Male and Female in the Delhi Police, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) as per a Memorandum of Understanding with the Delhi Police. Candidates from all parts of the country are eligible to apply.

10% vacancies are reserved for Ex-servicemen in each category of Constable (Exe.) male. Half of this quota is reserved for specific categories of Ex-servicemen (Special Forces/NSG, Qualified Instructors grading in Commando course, Navy/Air Force specialized Commando-type units).

Nationality/ Citizenship

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

18-25 years as on 2025-07-01. Candidates born not earlier than 2000-07-02 and not later than 2007-07-01.

Pay Scale

Pay Level-3 (₹ 21700-69100/-) (Group 'C').

Essential Qualification (as on 2025-10-21)

  • Educational Qualification: 10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed from a recognized Board.
    • Relaxable up to 11th pass for sons/daughters of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police Personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police, and Bandsmen, Buglers, Mounted Constables, Drivers, Dispatch Riders, etc., of Delhi Police only.
  • Driving License: Male candidates must possess a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle or Car) as on the date of the PE&MT. Learner License is not acceptable.
  • Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the stipulated date are not eligible.

Incentive to NCC Certificate Holders

  • NCC 'C' Certificate: 5% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • NCC 'B' Certificate: 3% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • NCC 'A' Certificate: 2% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • Note: Benefits on production of original certificate at PE&MT/Document Verification. Crucial date is the closing date of application. Not available for Ex-servicemen.

Weightage of Additional Marks (Rashtriya Raksha University Degree/PG Diploma)

  • Distinction: 5% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • First Class: 4% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • Second Class: 3% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • Pass Class: 2% of the maximum marks of the Examination
  • Note: Benefits on production of original certificate at PE&MT/Document Verification. Crucial date is the closing date of application.

How to Apply

All candidates must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in). The earlier OTR on ssc.nic.in will not be functional. After OTR, candidates can fill out the Online Application Form. Detailed instructions are in Annexure-I and Annexure-II of the Examination Notice.

Photograph & Signature Guidelines:

  • Photograph: Real-time photograph capture during application. Must be clear, without cap or spectacles, and with a full-frontal view. Plain background, eye-level camera, face fully inside delineated area. Online Application Forms with photographs not meeting instructions are liable to be rejected. Aadhaar-Based Authentication exempts candidates from photo rejections.
  • Signature: Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB), dimensions 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Blurred/miniature signatures will be rejected. Aadhaar-Based Authentication exempts candidates from signature rejections.

Application Fee

  • Fee payable: ₹100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
  • Exemptions: Women candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation.
  • Payment mode: Online only (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Debit cards).
  • Last date for fee payment: 2025-10-22 (23:00 hours).
  • Fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.

Online Application Form Correction

  • Correction Window: 2025-10-29 to 2025-10-31 (23:00 hours).
  • Candidates can correct/modify application parameters twice.
  • Correction Charges: ₹200/- for the first time, ₹500/- for the second time. Applicable to all candidates, payable online.

Centres of Examination

Candidates must indicate three preferred examination centers in order of priority in the Online Application Form. No request for change of center will be entertained later.

Scheme of Examination

The recruitment process consists of:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
  2. Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT)
  3. Medical Examination

Computer-Based Examination (CBE)

  • One objective-type multiple-choice paper with 100 questions carrying 100 marks.
  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Medium: English and Hindi.

Physical Endurance Test (PE&MT)

  • Qualifying in nature.
  • Candidates who qualify in Race are eligible for Long Jump and High Jump. No appeal against disqualification in these events.

    • Relaxable by 5 cm for residents of Hill areas (Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh & Ladakh) and ST candidates.
    • Relaxable by 5 cm for sons of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.
  • Chest: 81 cm with a minimum of 4 cm expansion (81-85 cm).
    • Relaxable by 5 cm for residents of Hill areas and ST candidates.
    • Relaxable by 5 cm for sons of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.
For Female Candidates:

  • Height: Minimum 157 cm.

  • Pregnant female candidates will not be allowed to participate in PE&MT and will be re-examined after confinement.

Medical Standard

  • Candidates should be in sound health, free from defect/deformity/disease.
  • Vision: 6/12 without glasses in both eyes, free from color blindness, and without any correction (glasses, surgery).
  • Tattoos: Permissible if depicting religious symbols/figures/name (as followed in Indian Army), located on inner aspect of forearm (left non-saluting limb) or dorsum of hands, and size less than ¼ of that part.

Admission to Examination Centre

  • Admission Certificates (ACs) for CBE will be uploaded on the SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) and for PE&MT/DV on the Delhi Police website (https://delhipolice.gov.in/).
  • Candidates must carry AC, two passport-size recent color photographs, and original valid Photo-ID proof with Date of Birth printed on it (e.g., Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, School ID, Employer ID, Ex-serviceman Discharge Book, any Central/State Govt. photo ID). If Photo ID doesn't have DOB, an additional original document for DOB proof is required. Mismatch in DOB will lead to rejection.

Document Verification

Conducted by Delhi Police at the time of PE&MT. Candidates must bring photocopies and original documents including:

  • Matriculation/Secondary Certificate
  • Essential Educational Qualification Certificate
  • Driving License (Motorcycle or Car) for male candidates
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Hill Area Certificate (if applicable)
  • Ex-Servicemen documents (Serving Defence Personnel Certificate/NOC, Undertaking, Discharge Certificate)
  • Relevant Certificate for age relaxation
  • Wards Certificate for Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff (if applicable)
  • Sports Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Departmental candidates of Delhi Police (if applicable)
  • No Objection Certificate (if employed in Govt./Govt. undertakings)
  • NCC Certificate
  • RRU Certificate
  • Documents for name change (marriage, divorce, other circumstances)

Mode of Selection

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for PE&MT/DV based on CBE merit, approximately 12 times the number of vacancies.
  • Minimum cut-off marks in CBE (normalized): Unreserved: 35, SC/ST/OBC/EWS: 30, ESM: 25.
  • PE&MT is essential but qualifying.
  • Final merit list will be prepared based on CBE marks for candidates qualifying PE&MT and Document Verification.

Resolution of Tie Cases

In case of a tie in CBE scores, the following criteria will be applied, one after another:

  1. Marks in Part-A of Computer-Based Examination.
  2. Marks in Part-B of Computer-Based Examination.
  3. Date of Birth (older candidates placed higher).
  4. Alphabetical order of names.

Action against Candidates found guilty of misconduct

Strict action, including cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations (periods ranging from 1 to 7 years), will be taken for various malpractices.
