Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Refineries Division, invites applications from bright, young, and energetic persons of Indian Nationality for selection to various Non-Executive posts. The positions are available at its Refinery/Petrochemical Units in Guwahati (Assam), Barauni (Bihar), Vadodara (Gujarat), Haldia (West Bengal), Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), Panipat (Haryana), Digboi (Assam), Bongaigaon (Assam), and Paradip (Odisha).

Vacancy Details

The pay scale for all posts is Rs. 25,000 - 1,05,000/-. The total number of vacancies is distributed across various refineries and posts as follows:

  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Production) (Post Code: 201): Total 230 vacancies across 9 refineries.
  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (P&U) (Post Code: 202): Total 37 vacancies across 5 refineries.
  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (P&U-O&M) (Post Code: 203): Total 22 vacancies across 2 refineries.
  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Electrical) / Junior Technical Assistant - IV (Electrical) (Post Code: 204): Total 13 vacancies across 5 refineries.
  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Mechanical) / Junior Technical Assistant - IV (Mechanical) (Post Code: 205): Total 12 vacancies across 4 refineries.
  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Instrumentation) / Junior Technical Assistant - IV (Instrumentation) (Post Code: 206): Total 6 vacancies across 5 refineries.
  • Junior Quality Control Analyst (Post Code: 207): Total 20 vacancies across 7 refineries.
  • Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Fire & Safety) (Post Code: 208): Total 51 vacancies across 8 refineries.

Eligibility Criteria

A) Educational Qualification:

  • Post Code 201 (Production): 3 years Diploma in Chemical Engg./ Petrochemical Engg./ Chemical Technology/ Refinery and Petrochemical Engg. OR B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry).
  • Post Code 202 (P&U): 3 years Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engg. OR B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry) ALONGWITH Boiler Competency Certificate (BCC) with Second Class OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in Boiler Attendant.
  • Post Code 203 (P&U-O&M): 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • Post Code 204 (Electrical): 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engg. / Electrical and Electronics Engg.
  • Post Code 205 (Mechanical): 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Post Code 206 (Instrumentation): 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation Engg./ Instrumentation & Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engg.
  • Post Code 207 (Quality Control Analyst): B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry).
  • Post Code 208 (Fire & Safety): Intermediate (10+2) with Sub-Officers' Course from NFSC-Nagpur or equivalent, with a Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

Minimum Percentage: 50% for General, EWS & OBC candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved positions.

B) Age Limit (as on 31-12-2025):

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 26 years for General/EWS candidates.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years (13 for OBC-NCL, 15 for SC/ST)
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per government guidelines.

Selection Methodology

The selection process will consist of:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): An objective type test of 120 minutes duration containing 100 questions. The test will cover Subject Knowledge (75 marks), Numerical Ability (15 marks), and General Awareness (10 marks). There will be no negative marking.
  2. Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT): This will be of a qualifying nature. Candidates will be shortlisted for SPPT in a 1:2 ratio based on their CBT scores.

Minimum qualifying marks in CBT are 40% (35% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved posts).

Application Fee

  • For General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) candidates: Rs. 300/- (non-refundable).
  • For SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates: No Fee.

The fee must be paid through the online payment gateway.

  5. A candidate is allowed to apply for only one post in any one of the Refinery units.
