The Commissioner, Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for filling up 1508 vacant contractual posts under various flagship programmes like MGNREGA, PMAY-G, and Finance Commission Grants.

Applications will be received online from 09:00 AM of 22/02/2026 until 11:59 PM of 22/03/2026. There is no application fee.

Language Skills

Candidates should have good knowledge of English and Hindi, in addition to Assamese.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizenship: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST candidates: 5 Years
    • OBC/MOBC candidates: 3 Years
    • PH candidates: 10 Years

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online through the official website: https://www.rural.assam.gov.in. Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of:

  • Passport Size Photograph (in colour with a white background)
  • Signature
  • Birth Certificate/HSLC Admit Card for age proof
  • ID Proof (PAN card, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, Driving License etc.)
  • Certificates and Mark-sheets of Minimum Educational Qualification
  • Computer proficiency certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)

Mode of Selection

  1. Written Examination: Candidates will appear for an OMR-based written test. There will be two papers:
    • Paper-I: For Gaon Panchayat Coordinator, Computer Assistant, Gram Rojgar Sahayak.
    • Paper-II: For Accredited Engineer. The test will be of 75 marks with negative marking (0.25 for 1-mark questions, 0.5 for 2-mark questions). The duration is 2 hours.
  2. Viva-Voce: Candidates who qualify the written test will be called for a Viva of 25 marks.

A merit list will be prepared based on the performance in the written examination and viva.

  • The date and venue of the Written Test will be intimated via SMS or through the official website.
  • Admit cards can be downloaded from the website https://www.rural.assam.gov.in.
  • Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily rejected.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for any stage of the recruitment process.
