Intimation About Medical Unfitness and Provision for Appeal for ALP (CEN 01/2024)

Introduction

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Guwahati has issued a notification regarding candidates who have undergone medical examination against CEN 01/2024 but were found unfit in the prescribed medical category. This notice provides the procedure for such candidates to appeal the decision.

List of Candidates

This notice includes a list of 16 candidates who have been found medically unfit. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notice for their name and roll number.

Appeal Submission

Candidates who wish to appeal against the decision of the medical committee may submit an appeal for medical re-examination. The appeal must be submitted in the format provided (Annexure B) and addressed to:

The appeal must be routed through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati. It must be submitted by speed post or delivered by hand on or before 17:00 hours of 20.02.2026.

Procedure of Appeal

An appeal will be entertained only if it meets the following conditions:

1. Justification: The appeal must be duly signed by the candidate with justification, indicating their Roll No., Registration No., & Date of Document Verification.
2. Medical Certificate: The candidate must produce a medical certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure A) from a Government/Private Doctor of the specialty in which the candidate was found unfit.
3. Specialist's Note: The certificate must include a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards required by the Railways for the particular medical category and that the candidate was previously declared unfit based on these standards by an appropriate Medical Board.
4. Certificate Attestation: The certificate should bear a photograph and mark of identification of the candidate, duly attested by the issuing Government/Private authority. The authority's full name, designation, address, and MCI/State Registration Number must be clearly mentioned.
5. Appeal Fee: A non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- must be paid through a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favour of "PFA, N.F. Railway, Maligaon". The fee will be refunded only if the appeal is successful and the decision is changed from "Unfit" to "Fit".
