The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur invites online applications for the direct recruitment of Upper Primary School Teachers (Sanskrit Education) (Level-II, Class 6 to 8) under the Rajasthan Sanskrit Education State and Subordinate Services (School Branch) Rules 2015 and Rajasthan Scheduled Area Subordinate, Ministerial and Class IV Services (Recruitment and Other Conditions of Service) Rules-2014.

The total number of posts is 2123. The subject-wise and area-wise distribution is as follows:
- Sanskrit Education Department - Upper Primary School Teacher Direct Recruitment Level-II
- Sanskrit Subject: Non-Scheduled Area: 319 posts, Scheduled Area: 70 posts
- Hindi Subject: Non-Scheduled Area: 156 posts, Scheduled Area: 18 posts
- English Subject: Non-Scheduled Area: 202 posts, Scheduled Area: 19 posts
- Social Science Subject: Non-Scheduled Area: 272 posts, Scheduled Area: 24 posts

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
For Teacher (Level-II) Class 6-8 (Sanskrit Subject):
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Shastri (or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) AND a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Shastri (or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks AND a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
- Shastri (or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 45% marks AND a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time.
- Varishtha Upadhyay (or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks AND a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Varishtha Upadhyay (or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks AND a 4-year Shastri-ShikshaShastri/B.A. Ed.
For Teacher (Level-II) Class 6-8 (Social Studies, English, Mathematics-Science, Hindi Subjects):
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Graduation AND a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 45% marks AND a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time.
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
- Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade AND a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
Note: All required educational and professional qualifications must be obtained by the examination date. Qualifications acquired after this date will not be valid.
Subject-Specific Eligibility for Non-Sanskrit Subjects:
- Social Studies Teacher: Graduation with at least one subject from History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, Philosophy, Accountancy, Financial Management, Banking, and Business Economics.
- Science & Mathematics Teacher: Graduation with at least one subject from Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Mathematics.
- English Teacher: Graduation with English as an optional subject.
- Hindi Teacher: Graduation with Hindi as an optional subject.
Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET) Qualification
It is mandatory to have passed the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET)-2022 or 2025 Level-II in the subject applying for, with the following minimum percentages:
- General/Unreserved: Non-TSP 60%, TSP 60%
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): Non-TSP 55%, TSP 36%
- SC, OBC, MBC, EWS: 55%
- Widows and Divorced Women (all categories): 50%, TSP 36%
- Ex-Servicemen (all categories): 50%
- Persons with Disabilities (all categories): 40%
- Sahariya Tribe (Sahariya Area): 36%
Age Limit and Relaxations
Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as of 01.01.2026. Age relaxations are provided as follows:
- Rajasthan domiciled SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS males: 5 years.
- General category women and women from other states (all categories): 5 years.
- Rajasthan domiciled SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS women: 10 years.
- Ex-servicemen: 15 years (maximum 50 years, 55 years if experience is mandatory for a lower post).
- Widows and Divorced women: No age limit (up to superannuation).
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 5 years additional age relaxation (cumulative with category-wise relaxation).
Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India, or subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (settled before 01.01.1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc. Relevant eligibility certificates from the Indian government may be required.
Other Qualifications
- Health: Candidates must be mentally and physically fit. A medical certificate from a Chief Medical & Health Officer or Medical Jurist is required.
- Character: Candidates must possess good moral character. Character certificates from the head of the last educational institution and two responsible persons (not relatives), issued within the last six months, are required.

Online Application Instructions
- Applications must be submitted online through the SSO Portal (http://sso.rajasthan.gov.in) via Citizen Apps (G2C) -> Recruitment Portal.
- Before applying, candidates must read the detailed advertisement and Rajasthan Sanskrit Education State and Subordinate Services (School Branch) Rules 2015.
- If the One Time Registration (OTR) fee has not been paid, candidates must first register via the OTR tab, select their category, disability status, and home state, and pay the prescribed fee.
- Fill the OTR details carefully as they cannot be modified later. Live photo capture and visible body mark are mandatory.
- After final submission, candidates must print their application form.
Application Fee (One Time Registration)
- General/Creamy Layer OBC/MBC: Rs. 600/-
- Non-Creamy Layer OBC/MBC, EWS, SC, ST: Rs. 400/-
- Persons with Disabilities: Rs. 400/-
Note: Candidates from other states/UTs will be considered under the General category and must pay Rs. 600/-.
Photo & Signature Guidelines
- Photo: Live photo capture is mandatory. The photo must be clear, well-lit, with a white or light-colored background. The face should cover at least 50% of the photo, with a clear view of the forehead, eyes, nose, and chin. No black or sunglasses are allowed. No tampering with the photo is permitted.
- Signature: Sign with a black or dark blue pen within a 7 cm wide x 2 cm high rectangular box on white A4 paper. The image should be in JPEG format, with pixels ranging from 280x80 to 560x160, and a file size between 20KB and 50KB. Mobile phone photos of signatures will not be accepted.
Correction Process
- No offline correction requests will be accepted.
- To change Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, or Gender, candidates must first update their Aadhaar/Jan Aadhaar and then fetch the updated data in the OTR system.
- Changes to Category, Disability, and Domicile can be made directly in the OTR system.
- For other details, corrections can be made within 3 days after the application closing date by paying a fee of Rs. 300/-. A second correction window will be provided 7 days before/after the exam. No further corrections will be allowed thereafter.
Application Withdrawal Process
Candidates who wish to withdraw their application (e.g., due to lack of eligibility or unwillingness to appear for the exam) can do so during a 3-day window approximately one month before the examination. This can be done by logging into the SSO Portal and using the 'Withdraw Button' in the Recruitment Section.
Exam Details
Exam Date & Duration
The competitive examination is proposed to be conducted offline (OMR-based) from 17.01.2026 to 21.01.2026 at designated centers. The Board reserves the right to change the exam dates and locations.
- Exam Type: One paper, multiple-choice questions.
- Total Marks: 300 marks.
- Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Number of Questions: 150 questions.
Marking Scheme
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks allotted for a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- OMR Instructions: Candidates must darken one of the five options (A, B, C, D, E) for each question. If a question is not attempted, option 'E' must be darkened. Failure to darken any option for more than 10% of the questions will lead to disqualification. An extra 10 minutes will be provided after the exam to ensure all bubbles are darkened.

Reservation Policy
- Category-wise Reservation: Reservation benefits for SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS, and PwD will be provided as per Rajasthan government rules.
- Women Reservation: 30% horizontal reservation will be provided to women, category-wise. Married women must provide caste/income certificates based on their father's name.
- Ex-Servicemen Reservation: 12.5% horizontal reservation will be provided as per rules. Only Rajasthan domiciled ex-servicemen are eligible.
- Outstanding Sportspersons Reservation: 2% horizontal reservation will be provided to outstanding sportspersons as per government notification dated 21.11.2019. Eligibility includes representing India in specific international tournaments or winning medals in national/state-level competitions.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Reservation: Reservation for PwD will be provided as per the Rajasthan Persons with Disabilities Rights Act-2018. Horizontal reservation applies. A UDID card is mandatory for document verification. 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks is also provided.
- Scribe Facility for PwD: Eligible PwD candidates can bring their own scribe or request one from the Board. Specific guidelines and documentation (disability certificate, undertaking) are required. Scribe users will receive an extra 20 minutes per hour of examination time.
- Scheduled Area Specific Instructions: Only residents of the Scheduled Area of Rajasthan are eligible for posts in the Scheduled Area. Candidates from other states will be considered under the General category.
Disqualifications
Candidates may be disqualified for various reasons, including: having more than one living spouse (without exemption), accepting dowry, having more than two children after 01.06.2002 (with certain exceptions), impersonation, forging documents, providing false information, using unfair means in the examination, or having a criminal record.
