  • Q1: What is the opening date of Application for CEN No. 07/2025?

    • The opening date of application is 28-10-2025.
  • Q2: What is the closing date for submission of Application for CEN No. 07/2025?

    • The last date for payment of the application fee for submitted applications is 29-11-2025.
  • Q3: What are the dates for modification of application?

    • The modification window will open only after the closing date for submission of application and will be active from 30-11-2025 to 09-12-2025.
    • If candidates wish to modify, change, or correct any details (except those filled in the 'Create an Account' form including email ID and mobile number, and chosen RRB), they may do so by paying a non-refundable modification fee of Rs.250/- for each occasion.
  • Q4: My final results are expected after 27.11.2025. Can I apply?

    • No. Candidates waiting for final results of prescribed educational/technical qualifications are not eligible to apply. Candidates should possess prescribed educational/technical qualifications on or before the closing date for submission of application for this CEN.
  • Q13: How to apply?

    • Kindly refer to Para 14.1 to 14.5.2 for details on how to apply. Candidates must read all the information and instructions given in the detailed CEN carefully before filling the ONLINE application to prevent mistakes.
  • Q26: Can I edit my details during the application process?

    • Yes. Any details in the application other than the details entered during 'Create an Account' can be edited till the application is submitted and registration number generated.
  • Q28: Can I edit my application details after submission of online application before making payment?

    • No, candidates cannot edit details after submission of application. Candidates are advised to re-check the details filled by them at the Preference and Preview & Submit page for correctness. If any information is found incorrect at application preview, they can click on the 'Edit' button to rectify it.
    • After submission of the application, pay the requisite examination fee. If a candidate wishes to modify, change, or correct any details (except those filled in the 'Create an Account' form details and chosen RRB), they may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs.250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion during the modification window from 30-11-2025 to 09-12-2025.

Account Creation and Login

  • Q5: What are the requirements to 'Create an Account'?

    • Candidates should have their own mobile number and a valid & active personal email ID.
  • Q6: I have created an account for CEN 01/2025. Should I create another account for CEN 07/2025?

    • No. Candidates who have already created an account during any notification published by Railway Recruitment Board in 2024 or 2025 are not required to create an account again. They should login using the same username and password to apply for CEN 07/2025.
  • Q7: What is the procedure to 'Create an Account'?

    • Under 'Apply Button', select 'Create an Account', enter all details asked for, including candidate's mobile number and email ID. An OTP will be sent to the candidate's mobile number and email, which must be entered and submitted.
  • Q8: Can I edit the 'Create an Account' details?

    • Candidates CANNOT edit any details of the 'Create an Account' once the account is created.
  • Q9: What is the next procedure after 'Create an Account'?

    • After creating an account, log in to the application on rrbapply.gov.in using RRB credentials or AADHAAR credentials.
    • There are five broad sections to complete the online application: Personal Details, Other Details, Educational Qualification, Upload Profile Documents, Preview and Preference & Submit.
    • The 12 details filled in the 'Create an Account' stage will pre-populate and cannot be edited. Begin by entering all details, starting with Personal Details, and proceed through the sections. Submit the online application for payment in the last section.
    • After completion of the fee payment process, the applicant will receive a confirmation via email & SMS from RRB. A printout of the submitted application with the registration number can then be taken.
    • Note: Candidates who have already applied to RRB notifications of 2024 or 2025 are advised to check data fetched from their previously saved data for correctness.
    • Details filled in the 'Create an Account' form (Name, Father's name, Mother's name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, Matriculation Roll No., Matriculation certificate Serial No., Matriculation certificate date, email ID, mobile number and Aadhaar e-KYC details including chosen RRB) cannot be modified.
  • Q10: Can mobile be used for filling up of application?

    • Some features of the application module will not work properly on a mobile platform. It is advised to use a Desktop/Laptop.
  • Q11: What is the procedure to login?

    • Enter your registered mobile number / email ID, followed by password and captcha, and submit.
  • Q23: What should I do if I forgot password to login My Account?

    • Click on the 'Forgot Password' option on the login page. Enter your registered email or mobile number along with your date of birth. A revised password will be sent to your registered email address.
    • Candidates must then log in using the revised password. After logging in, they can create a new password by accessing the 'Change Password' option available on the upper right-hand side of the online application page.
  • Q24: Can I change my password?

    • Yes. Candidates should first log in using the old password. After logging in, they can change their old password by accessing the 'Change Password' option.
  • Q25: Can I change my 'Chosen RRB'?

    • No, you cannot change the 'chosen RRB' after submission of the application.

Eligibility and Reservation

  • Q12: How many Pay Levels are there in CEN 07/2025?

    • There are two pay levels in CEN 07/2025 (Level-3 to Level-2).
  • Q15: What is the crucial date for PwBD certificate?

    • PwBD candidates must possess their disability certificate on or before the closing date of online application, i.e., 27.11.2025.
  • Q16: Can I apply to different RRBs for different pay levels?

    • No. Candidates are allowed to apply for one RRB only.
  • Q17: Can I apply to more than one RRB?

    • No, you should not. Applying to more than one RRB will result in the rejection of all applications and will lead to debarment from all future examinations of RRB and RRC.
  • Q18: Can I apply multiple applications to the same RRB?

    • No, you should not. Multiple applications to the same RRB will result in the rejection of all applications and will lead to debarment from all future examinations of RRB and RRC.
  • Q19: I have undergone LASIK surgery. Am I eligible to apply?

    • Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are eligible for posts that require Medical Standards B2 & C2. Please refer Note (c) of Para 3.0 of CEN 07/2025.
  • Q27: I have wrongly mentioned my community/caste in the application. Can I modify my community/caste after submission of application?

    • Yes, editing of details is allowed during the Modification window period only by paying the prescribed fee. However, after the Modification window period is closed, editing of details is not allowed. You must submit Community and caste as per the online application during the Document Verification process; otherwise, your candidature will be considered under the 'Unreserved' category (subject to fulfillment of all eligibility conditions).
  • Q29: Who are eligible for 'Free Travel Authority' (free Railway Pass)?

    • Only candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) can avail 'Free Travel Authority' (free Railway Pass).
  • Q30: How do I avail 'Free Travel Authority' (free Railway Pass)?

    • This facility is available only to SC/ST candidates. While filling up the ONLINE application, such candidates should choose 'Yes' from the drop-down under 'Do you wish to avail free rail travel pass for the exam' and fill in the 'Nearest Railway Station'. It is the responsibility of the candidates to give the correct name of the Railway Station in the online application, failing which their travel authority may get rejected. They are also required to upload their Caste Certificate.
  • Q31: How can I receive the free travel facility?

    • In the case of eligible SC/ST candidates, their City Intimation Slip/e-call letter itself will contain the free travel authority (sleeper class railway pass). They will be allowed to book train reservation by submitting a self-attested photocopy of their City Intimation Slip/e-call letter and SC/ST certificate at the ticket booking counter. For further details, refer Para 19.0 (e) of CEN No. 07/2025.
  • Q33: What is EBC?

    • EBC stands for 'Economically Backward Class'. EBC candidates are those whose annual family income is less than Rs.50,000/- OR are holders of a BPL Card OR any other certificate issued by the Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation program OR holders of Izzat MST issued by Railways. Candidates should not confuse Economically Backward Class with Other Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class.
  • Q34: What are the benefits given to EBC candidates?

    • EBC candidates are given 'Fee concession'. Refer Para 7.3 of the detailed CEN No. 07/2025.
  • Q35: What will happen if a candidate fails to produce EBC Certificate?

    • If a candidate availed fee concession as EBC, he/she should have a valid Income Certificate (as per Annexure III A of the CEN) or BPL Card or any other certificate issued by the Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation program or IZZAT MST issued by Railways before submission of online application. This must be submitted at the time of Document Verification, failing which his/her candidature will be rejected. Refer Para 7.3 of the detailed CEN for complete information.
  • Q36: Are there reserved posts for EBC?

    • No. EBC candidates are eligible only for fee concession. There is no reservation of posts for EBC candidates.
  • Q37: Who is included under minorities?

    • Minorities include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) who were given minority status by the State/UT where the candidate belongs, subject to evasion/deletion/inclusion if any received till the last date of submission of the online application.
  • Q38: What are the benefits given to Minorities candidates? What will happen if a candidate fails to produce an affidavit for minority community declaration during document verification?

    • Minorities candidates are given 'Fee concession' only and are not eligible for reservation benefits. Minority candidates claiming a waiver of examination fees will be required to submit an affidavit for minority community declaration (as per Annexure IV of the CEN) on non-judicial stamp paper at the time of Document Verification, failing which their candidature will be rejected.
  • Q39: What are the criteria for availing reservation under EWS?

    • Refer Para 8.13 of the detailed CEN No. 07/2025 available on the official websites of RRBs.
  • Q40: Who are all eligible for Fee Concession?

    • SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class candidates are eligible for fee relaxation.
  • Q41: What is the crucial date for reckoning age for this CEN-07/2025?

    • The crucial date for reckoning age for this CEN-07/2025 is 01.01.2026.
  • Q42: What is the crucial date for educational qualification? Can candidates whose result is expected after 27/11/2025 apply?

    • Candidates (Existing/New) must possess their educational/technical qualification on or before the closing date for submission of application, i.e., 27/11/2025. Candidates waiting for final results after this date are not eligible to apply.
  • Q43: What is the crucial date to claim SC/ST/OBC/EWS status?

    • Community/category status for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and EWS as on the closing date of submission of applications against this CEN (27.11.2025) shall only be considered for reservation and related benefits as per eligibility. Any change in this status thereafter shall not be considered. Candidates seeking reservation must ensure they possess the caste/community certificate as on the closing date and produce the original in the prescribed format during Document Verification.
  • Q44: I am currently serving in the Armed Forces. Can I apply as an Ex-Serviceman?

    • For armed services personnel serving on the closing date of application submission, submit an "Employment certificate with probable date of discharge from service" (as per Annexure VI (A)) valid as on the closing date of Online application for this CEN. Further, a self-declaration of Undertaking (as per Annexure VI) is to be submitted to claim Ex-servicemen reservation benefits at the time of Document Verification.
  • Q45: I have already secured civil employment as an Ex-Serviceman. Am I eligible for Ex-Serviceman benefits against this CEN?

    • Ex-Serviceman candidates who have already secured civil employment under the Central Government in Group 'C' & erstwhile Group 'D' (including PSUs, Autonomous Bodies/Statutory Bodies, Nationalized Banks, etc.) after availing of Ex-Servicemen benefits will be permitted only the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another civil employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group 'C'/erstwhile Group 'D' under the Central Government. Such candidates will not be considered against the vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Refer Para 10.0 to 10.6 of the detailed CEN No. 07/2025.
  • Q76: Are OBCs present in the state list eligible for OBC-NCL reservation?

    • OBCs present in the State list but not covered in the central list of OBCs (as per the latest list in http://www.ncbc.nic.in) are NOT eligible to claim the reservation.

Document Verification and Certificates

  • Q20: Why is DigiLocker/Aadhaar Verification required?

    • Digi Locker/Aadhaar validation is required for a smoother process at different stages of recruitment, to ensure the genuineness of candidature, and to curb impersonation during CBTs. RRBs will not share Aadhaar details with any third party or use them for any purpose other than the objectives of this CEN. If applicants verify their identity & other primary details with alternate Photo IDs, they will be subjected to significantly stricter & more detailed scrutiny at every stage of the recruitment process.
  • Q21: What should I do if I don't have Aadhaar?

    • Candidates are advised to authenticate their identity using Digilocker or Aadhaar during the "Create an Account" stage. If this stage is missed, they can still authenticate during the online application details filling process using the "Verify Aadhaar" facility. This must be completed before the final submission of the application. If applicants verify their identity & other primary details with alternate Photo IDs, they will be subjected to significantly stricter & more detailed scrutiny at every stage of the recruitment process.
  • Q22: What document should I produce if I have already changed my name?

    • Applicants must possess a Gazette Notification or relevant legal documentation for name changes and be prepared to present it upon request during the recruitment process. The same should be submitted at the time of DV. Applicants should also fill in both the original name and the changed name during 'Create an Account'. In such cases, both names will be reflected in the application.
  • Q46: Who should produce NOC at the time of Document Verification?

    • Candidates serving (including those undergoing induction training/probation) in any Central/State Government Department (including Railways) or Public Sector Undertakings may apply directly to the RRBs by informing their employer. Shortlisted candidates should produce an NOC from their employer on the date of DV, failing which their candidature will be canceled. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to submit the NOC within the prescribed time limit. Refer to Para No. 12.0 of the notification.
  • Q47: After submission of application, I have joined in Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings. Do I have to produce NOC at the time of DV?

    • Yes. Though you have joined service in any Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings after submission of application, you are required to produce an NOC at the time of DV, failing which your candidature/empanelment will be canceled.
  • Q48: What is the benchmark degree of disability specified for PwBD?

    • To be considered as a Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), the disability should be 40% or more.
  • Q49: Can PwBD candidates apply against unreserved vacancies?

    • Yes, PwBD candidates can apply against any unreserved vacancies suitable for their disability, as indicated in the Post-wise Parameters Table (Annexure-A) under the column "Suitability for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities" with details of the specified sub-category of disability. They will be eligible for age and fee relaxation for these posts.
  • Q50: How do I know about the suitability of various disabilities for the posts?

    • The suitability or otherwise of a post for PwBD has been indicated in the Post Wise Parameters Table (Annexure-A) against each post, under the column "Suitability for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities" with details of the specified sub-category of disability.

Scribe Facility

  • Q51: I am a PwBD candidate, shall I use a scribe for CBT?

    • In the case of persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) in the category of Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arm affected – BA) and Cerebral Palsy, the facility of a scribe shall be given if desired.
    • For other categories of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of a scribe can be allowed on production of a certificate from a Government Health Care institution to the effect that the person has a physical limitation to write and a scribe is essential.
    • The candidate can avail the assistance of a scribe after producing the certificate (as per Annexure V (G)) and submitting a letter of undertaking (as per Annexure V (D)) at the examination center.
    • Candidates eligible for a scribe and wishing to avail the facility must opt for a scribe in their online application. Eligible candidates will have to arrange for the scribe on their own cost.
  • Q52: How to avail the facility of a scribe for eligible candidates in the CBT?

    • Scribe-eligible candidates must ensure their scribe is registered with RRBs at rrbapply.gov.in (refer to Para 11.7.7 regarding Registration of scribe in the Detailed CEN-07/2025).
    • They should log in to the application portal during a 5-day window provided immediately after the Modification Window closes, to furnish scribe details.
    • Enter your scribe's One-Time Registration (OTR) Number. An OTP will be sent to your scribe's registered mobile number, which must be entered to confirm the scribe.
  • Q53: What is the procedure for registration of a scribe?

    • Any person engaged as a scribe by a scribe-eligible candidate must register on the RRB portal at rrbapply.gov.in by navigating to the Home page → Scribe Registration.
    • Upon successful registration, an OTR number will be generated and sent to the scribe's registered mobile number.
    • Only registered scribes with valid OTR numbers will be permitted to offer their services as a scribe. (Please Refer to Para no. 11.7.8 and 14.6 in the Detailed CEN-07/2025)

Fees and Refunds

  • Q54: Who are all eligible for 'Refund of Fee'?

    • Candidates who attend the 1st Stage CBT are only eligible for 'Refund of Fee' (duly deducting bank charges) as given under Para 7.4 of detailed CEN No. 07/2025. Note that the modification fee is non-refundable.
  • Q55: Please let me know the 'Refund policy' of RRBs.

    • The payment made is non-refundable, and applicants cannot raise a chargeback. The refundable portion of the fee (as per Para 7.4 of the detailed CEN) will be applicable only to those candidates who attend the 1st Stage CBT. There will be no refund of examination fees for erroneous, incomplete, or rejected applications, and non-attendance of the 1st Stage CBT.
  • Q61: How can I pay the fees?

    • The fees can be paid only ONLINE through Net banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI services. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable from the candidate in addition to the fees.
  • Q62: What is the fees that I have to remit?

    • Refer Para 7.0 of CEN No. 07/2025.
  • Q70: In case of rejection of my application, will the fee paid by me be refunded?

    • No refund of fee will be made on account of rejection of applications.

Qualifications and Dates

  • Q56: In the application, only matriculation is visible. How do I add my other qualifications?

    • Under 'Qualification', select the relevant qualification, fill in the qualification details, and click on the 'Add' button.
  • Q57: What date should I enter in the application if only the month and year of passing are available on the matric and other qualification certificates?

    • In case the date is unavailable on any of the qualification certificates, enter the last date of the month available on the certificate. For example, May-2023 can be mentioned as 31-05-2023.
  • Q58: Which district/state should I mention if the district/state has been bifurcated?

    • The present district/state may be mentioned to avoid ambiguity, as some districts will not be shown for a respective state in lieu of bifurcation.

Document Upload Specifications

  • Q59: What all documents are to be uploaded in total?

    • All candidates have to upload their scanned signature as per prescribed specifications. SC/ST candidates have to upload their Caste Certificate to avail of the Free Travel Pass.
  • Q60: What should be the size of the documents to be uploaded?

    • Caste certificate: The caste certificate should be up to 400 KB in PDF format.
    • Signature: Signature should be between minimum resolutions of 100 DPI, with dimensions of Minimum 140 pixels (width) x 60 pixels (height), and a file size of 30 KB to 49 KB in JPG/JPEG format. The scanned signature must be positioned within the designated scan box on the application form (Box Size: 35 mm (width) x 20 mm (height)). Ensure that the signature is centered within the specified box dimensions. Please see Para No.14.5.1 of CEN No. 07/2025 for details.
  • Q73: What is the procedure for uploading the Live photograph?

    • Candidates must capture a live photograph of theirs during the application process using either a webcam or the front camera of a smartphone. Uploading a pre-existing photo is not permitted. Follow on-screen guidelines for positioning, lighting, environment, and attire. To use a smartphone, scan the QR code with the mobile camera, log in using your user ID, password, and OTP sent to the registered mobile number.
    • Broad guidelines:
      • Candidates are not required to upload a pre-existing photograph.
      • The application module is designed to capture a live photograph.
      • Live photos can be captured by webcam or front camera.
      • Dress in NON-WHITE clothing, preferably in dark colors, to maintain contrast with the background.
      • Stand or sit in front of the camera, ensuring the camera is at eye level, looking straight ahead with a neutral expression.
      • Ensure your entire face is clearly visible and centered within the frame. Your face should not be too close or too far, and no part of your head or face should be outside the delineated frame.
      • Do not wear a cap, mask, or glasses/spectacles.
      • Candidates may preview their captured photo and retake it if not satisfied. Applications with photographs not complying with these guidelines are liable to be rejected. The candidate's appearance during the entire recruitment process must match the submitted photograph.
      • Important Note: Candidates must not attempt to take a picture of a printed or digital pre-existing photograph. Any application where such an image is submitted will be summarily rejected. Please see Para No.14.4 of CEN No. 07/2025 for details.
  • Q74: What is the procedure for uploading the Signature? What type of signature should be uploaded?

    • Candidates are required to upload a scanned copy of their signature as per the specifications below:
    • The signature must be written by the candidate only.
    • Use a black ink pen on white paper.
    • The signature must be in running handwriting (i.e., cursive/joined letters), NOT in BLOCK, CAPITAL, or DISJOINED letters. The signature should be clear, legible, and entirely visible within the scanned area.
    • Specifications for signature:
      • Scan the signed paper using a minimum resolution of 100 DPI.
      • Image file format: JPG/JPEG only.
      • File size: Between 30 KB and 49 KB.
      • Image dimensions: Minimum 140 pixels (width) x 60 pixels (height).
      • The scanned signature must be positioned within the designated scan box on the application form: Box Size: 35 mm (width) x 20 mm (height). The signature image should be centered within this box. Please see Para No.14.5.1 of CEN No. 07/2025 for details.

Examination and Process

  • Q63: What are the stages of the recruitment process and how do I know the schedules?

    • The recruitment process includes: 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Computer Based Typing Skill Test (as applicable), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME).
    • Information on the CBT schedule and venue will be given to eligible candidates in due course through RRB websites, SMS, and Email. Requests for postponement of any stages of CBT or for a change of venue, date, and shift will not be entertained.
  • Q64: What is the pattern and syllabus for CBTs?

    • Kindly refer to Para-13.
  • Q65: Will there be negative marking?

    • Yes, there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer in CBT.
  • Q66: Where should I choose my choice of language for my examination?

    • Candidates can choose one language from a list of languages available in the drop-down menu under the 'Personal Details' page.
  • Q67: Should I provide the order of preference for all the posts for which I am eligible?

    • Yes, candidates are advised to indicate their order of preference for as many posts as they are eligible for in the chosen RRB. Candidates with partial preferences will only be considered for the specific Railway Zones and posts/categories they have opted for, subject to vacancy availability. If no preference is given for certain posts/categories, it will be considered as their unwillingness for those posts. Once preferences are submitted, they are final, and no changes will be entertained.
  • Q69: How do I know that my application is finally submitted?

    • Final acceptance of the ONLINE application will happen only after receiving confirmation of fee payment. The applicant will receive a confirmation on successful payment through email & SMS.
  • Q71: My application is accepted, and my E-call letter is generated. Does this imply that I am accepted at all stages of the recruitment process?

    • No, admission to all stages of the recruitment process shall be provisional, subject to the candidate satisfying all the prescribed eligibility conditions. The mere issuance of an E-call letter does NOT imply that the candidature has been accepted for the subsequent stages. At the time of CBT, the appropriateness, authenticity & genuineness of their Photograph & Signature will be verified. Credentials will be verified at subsequent recruitment stages like Medical Examination/Document Verification.
  • Q72: Can I take a printout of the application?

    • Yes. Candidates can take a printout of their application after payment of examination fees.

  • Q14: What is the use of application Registration Number?

    • Candidates are advised to note and remember their Registration Number of submitted application until the completion of the recruitment process.
