Introduction

State Health Society, Bihar invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for contractual posts of AYUSH Medical Officers (Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, and Unani) in PHCs/CHCs/APHCs under the NHM scheme. The engagement will be on a contractual basis with a consolidated pay of ₹32,000/- per month.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

1. AYUSH Doctor (Ayurvedic):

   • B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree from a recognized university, included in the schedule of the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.
   • Must have completed the mandatory internship.
   • Must be registered with the Bihar State Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Council, Patna.

2. AYUSH Doctor (Homeopathic):

   • B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) degree from a recognized university, included in the schedule of the Central Council of Homeopathy, New Delhi.
   • Must have completed the mandatory internship.
   • Must be registered with the Bihar State Homeopathic Medical Council, Patna.

3. AYUSH Doctor (Unani):

   • B.U.M.S. (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) degree from a recognized university, included in the schedule of the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.
   • Must have completed the mandatory internship.
   • Must be registered with the Bihar State Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Council, Patna.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2024)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age:
  • Unreserved/EWS (Male): 37 years
  • Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female): 40 years
  • Unreserved/EWS (Female): 40 years
  • SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years
• Age Relaxation: 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and 5 years for departmental employees, as per rules.

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on marks obtained in a Computer Based Test (CBT).
• Exam Pattern:
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Marks per question: 4
  • Total Marks: 400
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Duration: 2 hours.
• Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification in a 1:2.5 ratio based on CBT merit.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT

• General: 40%
• Backward Class: 36.5%
• Extremely Backward Class: 34%
• SC/ST/Women/PwD: 32%

General Instructions

• The reservation benefits are applicable only to the permanent residents of Bihar.
• Candidates from other states will be treated as General category candidates.
• This recruitment is purely on a contractual basis for 11 months, which may be extended up to 60 years of age based on satisfactory performance and project approval.
• Candidates must produce all original documents for verification at the time of counseling. The last date for issuance of all required certificates is the application closing date, i.e., 15.06.2025.
