Notice of Medical Unfitness

The Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati has released a list of candidates who have undergone medical examination in Railway Hospitals against notification CEN 01/2024 and have been found unfit in the prescribed medical category.

Appeal Process for Medical Re-examination

Candidates who wish to appeal against the decision of the medical committee may submit an appeal for medical re-examination. The appeal must be submitted in the format provided (Annexure B) and addressed to:

The appeal must be routed through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati. It should be submitted on or before 17:00 hours on 20.02.2026 by speed post or delivered by hand, along with all relevant documents.

Procedure and Conditions for Appeal

An appeal will be considered only if the following conditions are met:

1. Justification: The appeal must be duly signed by the candidate with proper justification, indicating their Roll Number, Registration Number, and Date of Document Verification. It must be received within the specified deadline.
2. Medical Certificate: The candidate must provide a certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure A) from a Government/Private Doctor specializing in the field where the candidate was found unfit.
3. Specialist's Declaration: The certificate must include a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards required by the Railways for the specific medical category and that the candidate was previously declared unfit based on these standards by a Railway Medical Board.
4. Certificate Attestation: The certificate should bear the candidate's photograph and identification mark, duly attested by the issuing Government/Private authority. The authority's full name, designation, address, and MCI/State Registration Number must be clearly mentioned.
5. Appeal Fee: As per Railway Board's letter no. 2014/H/5/8(policy) dated 31.12.2015, candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 1000/- through a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favour of PFA, N.F. Railway, Maligaon.

Refund of Fee

If the appeal is successful and the candidate's status changes from 'Unfit' to 'Fit', the DD of Rs. 1000/- will be refunded. In all other cases, the amount will be credited to the Railway.
