High Court of Bombay Annual General Transfers 2026 for Civil Judges, Junior Division

On the recommendations received from the Hon'ble Committee and by the order of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay, the proposed list of transfers of Judicial Officers for the year 2026 is being published. The full list of 178 officers with their current and proposed postings is available in the official notification.

Important Instructions and Notes for Judicial Officers

  1. Detailed Notification: A detailed notification of the postings will follow.
  2. Leaving Charge: All officers under orders of Annual General Transfers should leave the charge of their present posting in consultation with the Principal District Judges of their respective stations. They should leave charge during the vacation period to ensure they can take charge at the new station on the date of re-opening before office hours.
  3. Court Re-opening: Courts will reopen after vacation on 8th June, 2026.
  4. Representations: Judicial Officers may forward their representations, if any, against the posting given in AGT Memo 2026 only through the link provided on the Judicial Officer's Portal on the official website of Bombay High Court. The portal for representations will be active from 23.02.2026 to 06.03.2026. The link will be disabled thereafter, and no representations will be considered after this period.
  5. Pending Cases: Transferred Judicial Officers are directed to (a) deliver judgments in all cases where hearings have been concluded and (b) endeavor to dispose of all part-heard cases before handing over charge.
  6. Transfer on Request (*): Judicial Officers not due for transfer but transferred on their request are not entitled to Transfer Grants/Allowances.
  7. Rejected Representations: Except for the above, the representations of all other Judicial Officers are rejected.
  8. Special Postings (#): Judicial Officers transferred and posted as Assistant Charity Commissioner, Competent Authority, Rent Control Law Court, or Assistant Registrar, Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal shall leave their charge in consultation with the High Court.
