This document provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding the recruitment process for CEN.No.08/2025 (Isolated categories) by the Railway Recruitment Board.

Important Dates

  • Opening Date of Application: 30.12.2025
  • Closing Date for Online Submission: 29.01.2026 (23:59 hrs)
  • Closing Date for Online Fee Payment: 31.01.2026 (23:59 hrs)
  • Application Modification Window: 01.02.2026 to 10.02.2026 (with a non-refundable fee of Rs. 250/- per occasion)
  • Crucial Date for Age Reckoning: 01.01.2026
  • Crucial Date for SC/ST/OBC/EWS Status: Candidates must possess the required certificate as on the closing date of application, 29.01.2026.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates awaiting final results of prescribed educational/technical/professional qualifications expected after 29.01.2026 are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are conditionally eligible for posts requiring Medical Standards B1.

Account Creation and Application Process

  • Requirements: Candidates must have their own active mobile number and a valid personal email ID.
  • Procedure: Use the 'Apply' button to 'Create an Account'. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number and email for verification.
  • Existing Accounts: Candidates who created an account for any RRB notification in 2024 or 2025 do not need to create a new one. They can log in with their existing credentials.
  • Editing Account Details: Details filled in the 'Create an Account' form CANNOT be edited. For genuine reasons, a request with necessary documents can be emailed to rrb.help@csc.gov.in.
  • Login: Use the registered mobile number/email ID and password to log in.
  • Application Platform: It is advised to use a Desktop/Laptop for filling the application as some features may not work on mobile devices.

Application Submission and Modifications

  • Multiple Applications: Applying to more than one RRB or submitting multiple applications to the same RRB will result in the rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC exams.
  • Pay Levels: Candidates can submit a common application for the different Pay Levels (Level-7, Level-6, Level-2) if they meet the educational requirements, but they can apply to only one RRB.
  • Editing Application Details: Details other than those in the 'Create an Account' form can be edited until the final submission and generation of the registration number.
  • Changing Chosen RRB: The chosen RRB cannot be changed after the application is submitted.

Document Requirements

  • Aadhaar Verification: Aadhaar validation is required to ensure the genuineness of the candidate. If a candidate does not have an Aadhaar card, they can use a Driving License, Passport, PAN, Voter ID, Employee ID (Govt.), or a current ID Card from a School/College/University.
  • Name Change: Applicants who have changed their name must possess a Gazette Notification or relevant legal documentation.
  • Documents to Upload: All candidates must upload a scanned photograph and signature. SC/ST candidates must also upload their Caste Certificate to avail of the Free Travel Pass.
  • Document Specifications:
    • Caste Certificate: PDF format, less than 500KB.
    • Photograph: JPEG format, 40 KB to 70 KB (min 100 DPI).
    • Signature: JPEG format, 30 KB to 70 KB (min 100 DPI).

Fees and Reservations

  • Fee Payment: Fees can be paid online only via Net banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI services.
  • Fee Refund: The refundable portion of the examination fee will be returned only to candidates who attend the Computer Based Test (CBT). Modification fees are non-refundable.
  • Fee Concession: SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates are eligible for fee relaxation.
  • EBC (Economically Backward Class): Candidates with an annual family income less than Rs. 50,000, BPL card holders, or Izzat MST holders. EBC candidates are eligible for fee concession only and not for post reservation.
  • Free Travel Authority (Railway Pass): This facility is available only to SC/ST candidates. They must select 'Yes' for this option while filling the application and upload their Caste Certificate.

Recruitment Stages

  • The recruitment process includes:
    1. Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
    2. Translation Test (as applicable)
    3. Document Verification (DV)
    4. Medical Examination (ME)
  • Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every incorrect answer in the CBT.
