Indian Navy Agniveer (SSR) 01/2027 and 02/2027 Batch Recruitment

The Indian Navy invites online applications from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for enrollment as Agniveer (SSR) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. The official website for applications is www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications:

  • Passed 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics from Boards of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
  • OR Passed a three-year diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Automobiles / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) with 50% marks in aggregate from a Polytechnic Institute recognized by Central, State, and UT governments.
  • OR Passed a two-year Vocational Course with 50% marks in aggregate with Physics and Maths as subjects from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT governments.
  • Note: Candidates appearing for their class 12th board exams in the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.

2. Age:

  • Agniveer 01/2027 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 December 2004 and 31 May 2009 (both dates inclusive).
  • Agniveer 02/2027 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive).
  • Candidates born between 01 December 2004 and 31 October 2009 are eligible to apply for INET 2026.

3. Marital Status:

  • Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible. Agniveers will not be permitted to marry during their entire four-year tenure.

Terms and Conditions of Service

  • Duration: The engagement period for Agniveers is four years.
  • Leave: 30 days of annual leave.
  • Pay and Allowances: A composite package of ₹30,000 per month with a fixed annual increment.
  • Seva Nidhi Package: Upon completion of four years, Agniveers will be paid a one-time 'Seva Nidhi' package, which will comprise their monthly contribution along with a matching contribution by the Government. The total amount will be approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (tax-exempt).
  • Insurance: A non-contributory Life Insurance Cover of ₹48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period.
  • Enrollment as Regular Cadre: Based on organizational requirements and policies, up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for enrollment in the regular cadre of the Indian Navy.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of two stages:

Stage I: INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test) 2026 - Computer-Based Examination

  • Exam: A computer-based examination with 100 questions, each carrying 01 mark.
  • Pattern: The paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English), objective type, and will comprise four sections: English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness.
  • Standard: The standard of the question paper will be of 10+2 level.
  • Duration: 1 hour.
  • Negative Marking: There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Examination Fee: An examination fee of ₹550/- plus 18% GST is to be paid online.

Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination

  • Shortlisting for Stage II will be based on marks obtained in the Stage I INET 2026. The cut-off may vary from state to state.

  • Written Examination: Candidates who qualify PFT will appear for the Stage II written examination. The pattern will be similar to Stage I.
  • Recruitment Medical: Candidates qualifying the written exam will undergo a recruitment medical examination.

Medical Standards

  • Minimum Height: 157 cms for both males and females.
  • Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on the inner face of forearms, from inside of the elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of the palm/back (dorsal) side of the hand.
  • Visual Standards:
    • Uncorrected Vision: 6/12, 6/12
    • Corrected Vision: 6/6, 6/6
    • Colour Perception: CP PASS

How to Apply

Candidates can apply online only on the official website https://joinindiannavy.gov.in from 14 March 2026 (00:01 hrs) to 06 April 2026 (17:00 hrs). A recent colour photograph (not older than March 2026) with a light background is required, where the candidate holds a black slate in front of their chest with their name and date of photograph taken clearly written on it with white chalk.
